Hello folks, hope you are all alright.. Sorry again for not being around too much..
My PC hasn't been replaced yet so I am still using this one from the Antiques Roadshow

Right, I can't remember if I have already posted about this but I am in limbo at the minute regarding the knees, the athroscopies haven't really done much for the pain, I saw the surgeon not too long ago and we discussed the pictures from the ops and what I thought were the 'before' photos were actually the 'after' ones  So I still have sandpaper for carteledge... However, as my RA (sero-neg) in my hands, wrists and elbows ain't under control he thinks the knees could be RA pain... He is writing to the rheumys to get them to re-assess me counting the knees in with everything else.
He said that my knees aren't quite bad enough for replacements yet BUT, if the rheumy lot get the RA pain sorted and the knees still hurt as they are, he is more than happy to see me again, and, if they need replacing by then he will happily do that too... :???:
So, as you can imagine, I am a tad miffed as I don't know where I stand (pardon the pun)....

I am not due back at the rheumy's till december, I hope that the letter he writes gives them a kick up the kaboodle..

All this along with the fact that my IBS is out of control and I look and feel 9 months pregnant is getting me down, I have been rather depressed lately, and I miss posting, this pc is a bag af ****... I am supposed to be getting a new one. I hope it happens...
I apologise for being negative, I don't want to give off bad joojoo.. Thanks for reading folks, I hope to catch you all soon..

    Hi Tony,

Good to hear from you again. Absolutely no need to apologise for your PC’s arthritis. We all understand that.

I’m sorry yours is no better though. I can remember the awe & disbelief when I saw the x-ray from my knee revision – every line clean, clear and pristine in place of all the gaping holes beforehand – so, to see just the opposite must have been very disheartening. I hope the rheumatologist can do something for you.

As for the IBS – it seems pretty common on these forums but thankfully I’ve no experience if it. Nine month’s pregnant? Did you manage to skip the morning sickness bit? Hope it’s an easy birth.

Hope things improve all round for both you and your PC. Take care.

Hi Tony nice to hear from you
but sorry things are still rubbish for you  I hope your appointment to see the rhummys come through sooner than december, hopefully it will seen as though your surgeon is writing to them.

    Take care
    hope you feel better soon

    Thanks Julie.. Xx

Sticky, it's twins... Gonna call em anger & disbelief after the recent farce.. Lol
As for the morning sickness, I'm lucky so far, that bit I don't have..
I'll admit though, I really was shocked when he said the sandpaper type cartilage was after the ops. I assume that's as good as they could get them although why he wouldn't think that would or could cause a lot of pain still I don't know.. Although, I kinda understand, the RA has spread & must still be as my shoulders have started hurting, only a little but that's how it all starts eh?

    Hi Tony,

Never apologise for having a moan or rant we can't be upbeat all the time as we're humanoid arthuroids and unfortunately our lives will never run smoothly.

If it is RA in your knees then they should be able to give you steroid injections in them (if they've not done so already) to help.

Hope the IBS calms down; its probably all the stress you've been having.

Good to see you around again.

    Hi Tony

December seems a long time for you to wait to see the rheumy lot, especially when you are in pain  If some of these doctors felt just a little of the pain, they would get things moving much more quickly :!: I hope that they manage to sort things out for you anyway, but I suspect that two new knees might eventually be the solution.

Hi tony. . Nice to hear from you. . Sorry to hear that things are kind of in limbo for you at the moment. . Sounds like the consultant you saw was supportive and now hopefully the rheumy can sort you out . . If things get too bad you could always ring up and try get an earlier appointment. . See how you go. . In regards to your shoulder I know what you mean about it spreading. My pain started in my finger this time last year and now seems like arthur has attacked me everywhere . . I too get pain in shoulders but I find the steroid injection helps relieve pain so I only really have trouble when it steroid wears off. . If only it was a miracle cure for everywhere. . But hey ho life don't work like that. . You take care. . Hope you get pc sorted soon. Missing ya dancing feet. . X

    Hi Tony

I am sorry to hear things ain't good for you at the mo and haven't been for some time. Regarding the IBS I take it you have been checked out and been diagnosed with it. I was diagnosed with IBSD and amitriptyline 25mg per night has made my life so much more bearable. The consultant did say this does not work for everyone but thank goodness it has for me.

I do hope you feel a bit brighter soon and get your pc organised. You have been missed on the forum.

    Life sucks sometimes, don't it?

    Hi Tony,

Sorry your not doing as well as you normally do and you are allowed to say and moan you know.

Tony I kinda thinking that a phone call with the info re your knees in a week to ten days might be a good plan? Rumo's and ortho's are not as quick with letters as they could be... mind gastro's are worse

December is a while away and maybe they could see you sooner with or without the ortho's letter if you push it a bit? I don't know how it works there but here a call can help.

You got some stuff for the IBS haven't you?

Really hope things will improve and you and the pc will feel much better soon. ((( ))) and a cuppa Cris xx

    Hi Tony

REALLY good to see you posting again

I do hope they get some stuff sorted for you l really do......bit tricky having the sero-neg and the inflammatory as well isn't it? Makes it a bit more complicated. Is that you discharged from the ortho then???

AND you are on no medication at all for the inflammatory are you? That can't help either

Maybe they will bring your rheumatology appointment forward??? Let's hope so for your sake.

    Love and welcome back

PS. Re the twins, given the nature of them may I suggest Ronnie and Reggie?

PPS. The first bit stands for it will pass, all things do (just to clarify and stop anyone hitting the report button).

Thank you everyone for the support.. I have been back to the docs this morning, he wants me to keep going with the new ibs regieme I started a couple of weeks ago, a new anti-spasmodic plus peppermint oil capsules, even though I have seen no differnce yet, maybe I am being impatient.... Having terrible trouble with the IBS, thanks to the twins I can't even fit into any of my bloody clothes  :x I only had a cup of tea last night and it set me off, I don't think it was the milk though as I have been having cereal on a morning with more milk than I have in mi tea.. :???: Hope it's not a Tetley allergy
He has also changed my anti-depressant as I am really struggling lately and don't mind admitting it.. Got to give the new one the usual few weeks to work.. Won't hold mi breath, having the DSS pestering me now, it's all too much stress, don't need it....

I will thank you all in advance, and for all your messages above

    I'll be back

    Hi Tony

glad you have seen the doc and he has changed your medication, I hope this works for you. I can imagine the distress the ibs is causing you.

Keep yer chin up and you know we are all here for you. (was gonna say right behind you but I don't think that is advisable at this moment in time eh?  )

    Hi Debs..
Yep, the bloating ain't fun, I mean I know that I have put on some weight in the past few months but this is ridiculous..

Tablets I am on now are, peppermint oil 0.2ML one three times a day plus, Alverine 120MG one three times a day.... Both lots half hour before food, easier said than done when you don't eat regularly.. Lol
Wouldn't mind but I was on three mebeverine a day, these have replaced them, so instead of three a day it's six.... THEN, the doc this morning gave me the half strength alverine so.. six of those per day plus the three ginormous peppermint oil ones, on top of the eight paracetamol, two diclofenac, one atorvastatin, one lanzoprazole, one loratadine, one magnesium and finally one of the new anti d's, citalopram.. Boy, no wonder I don't have an appetite  Make that 24 tablets per day along with the patch every three days  I feel greedy

you are right Debs, I too rattle when I hobble.. Lol

I'm hoping that these new meds help, both the anti d's and the new ibs ones.
Mind you, I don't mind admitting that I'm already stressing over this dss business. I've had bad experiences in the past, and it sounds worse now. It's all done by some company I think, how on Earth can that be fair, I'm quite sure that they must get paid for results, results being people kicked off benefits. Personally I've become so much worse than when I was last assessed but I dare not fill in the forms just in case, I mean, how daft is that.. I'm in no state to work, cannot even guarantee being able to get out of bed day by day right now, and even when I am I'm popped up on magic pills and patches. Drugs that I dint want to have to take, yet should I have been one of lives cop outs and become a smack head, then they would bend over so far backwards to help me that they could kiss their own ar5es.. Makes me sick. Oh, better not get ranting, I'll get myself into bother.... The system is corrupt, vile, obscene.. A friend of mine was due for one of these interview faces earlier this yr when he was rushed into coronary care with chest pains, out of courtesy he got the nurse to let them know he wouldn't make it, they just kept asking why, the nurse kept telling them that he'd been taken to the coronary care unit, they didn't understand why he still couldn't go. Tossers.. They even rang the ward ten minutes later to make sure it was true.. It's all about commission folks, I don't care what anyone says, when it boils down to it cash is more important than us,.our health and well being.

    There, mini rant over..

    Good night folks..
