Do you think that attitude can shape your life :?: It's not always easy, but I think that having a positive attitude can help to overcome many hurdles in life.
My best friend (aged 87) is my mentor and role model. Life has often been very difficult for her, and she's had more than her fair share of misfortune, including a recent battle with cancer, but she is the most positive person I know. Thankfully, she is now in remission from the cancer, and I wonder whether her positive attitude when she was receiving treatment has played a part in her recovery.
If I ever feel a bit sorry for myself, I only have to spend a little time with my friend to feel much more cheerful. She has a talent for making everyone feel better just by being in her company. If I live to be her age, I hope I can stay as positive as my friend.

Hi Joan
That is so lovely, when I am down I think of how positive my mum was, she died 24 years ago, she to had a rough ride , and when she was diagnosed with cancer she just got on with it, of course she had her weepy moments, but she had such a positive attitude, I am afraid I don't have it, but I do try.Love

My husband believes 100% in that, he says I get too down and negative about my Arthritis and maybe he is right but its hard. We have a close friend just lost her mum and sad things in the world really we are so lucky but hard to think that at times. xxAS Sufferer

Hi Barbara
Maybe the older generation learned to stay positive during the war. My friend says that was where she developed her positive attitude, and it has never left her. You always seem positive to me when you post on here, Barbara
Hi Anky
You're right that it's hard to stay positive. It doesn't come easy when you are in pain and can't do all the things you would like to do. I try to concentrate on the things that I can do, rather than dwell on the things I can't, but it can be frustrating sometimes.
If you listen to the news, it can be very depressing because as you say, there are so many sad things in the world, but the good news is often not reported so we don't get a balanced view.
Hi Val
That's very true. We all have those days when everything seems negative, but it can seem entirely different the next day. I've just spent a couple of hours chatting with my friend, so I'm feeling very positive at the moment Her daughter is staying at a 5* hotel in Spain at present, so we found a video of it on the internet and went on a virtual tour of it. We could imagine that we were there, so it made us smile. Sheer luxury :!:0 -
Having been lucky enough to meet her, Joan, I totally agree, she's an inspiration.
