Should I have heard from Rheumy?

Had spine xray almost 3 weeks ago. Managed to get results from gp which showed I have some vertebra which has become 'wedge-shaped'. The only explanation after discussing it with a friend who has brittle bones and is a back guru is that it is osteoporosis.

Whatever the diagnosis, shouldn't I have heard from my rheumy department? If I hadn't pushed to find out the results then I'd still be in the dark. Either which way my back is still chuffing painful!!

    Hi Jenzie

sorry you've had a worrying result from your x rays and that you've not been given a proper explanation about what it means.
Was it rheummy who organised the xrays? if so, then perhaps a phonecall to the clinic might prove useful? or to the consultant's secretary? I've always found them very helpful.

I'm sorry too that you are in such pain. Maybe your doc could review the analgesics and offer you more effective pain relief?

hope you get some answers soon.

    Hi jenzie

I hope you take Iris advice and ring the rhummy dept.

Fingers crossed you then get an appointment and you get a propper explaination of your xray result.

    Thinking of you

If the rheumy was the one who sent you for Xrays then he should also have been given the results and l woudl contact his sec as Iris suggests for certain.
