For once i'm here cuddling my poorly baby (ok he's 3 but still my baby)
rather than him cuddling a poorly me
As much as I hate being poorly, I would do anything to swap
The sad eyes are heartbreaking
We had a rough night last night, with a high temp, up nearly every hour. He's been home with his dad all day, doing a good impression of the calpol advert
but now we're hot and constantly crying, no matter what mummy does
Cuddles is the best thing i've managed so far, although its like hugging a hot water bottle
Hope we have a better night tonight

Awww Chrissie, it is so heartbreaking isnt it to see your little one so poorly, we just want to have the illness for them
it doesnt matter how old they are they are still our babies! Mine is 18 and just gone off to Uni !
I do hope he gets better quickly and you all get a better night. ((((hugs)))
cool him down with a nice cool flannel on his forehead, if he'll have it, you probably done that already.
sleep well, fingers crossed

Hope he feels better soon, give him plenty of fluids nd cool baths.
Mine are 20, 17 & 15 and will never be too old to be my babies, it's lovely to hear someone else say the same. XxAS Sufferer

I hope you get a better night, Chrissie, and that your son will be better tomorrow. I think we can stand illness in ourselves, but with our children, it's a different matter. The trouble is that they are too young to understand why they feel so poorly, and you can't explain to them.
My two babies celebrated their 40th birthday this year  Where did all those years go :?:

Poor child Chrissie. I do hope he starts to feel better soon. They get totally wiped don't they? But they bounce back suddenly.
Hope you are coping okay too.

Thanks everybody
He's a bit better now his temperature has broken although that in itself was horrible as he had 2 episodes of night terrors that lasted 1/2 an hr & an hour repectively. Yelling, screaming, kicking out & hitting but not really awake. He kept crying out for me but if I went to him he said "go away I want my mummy" :???: but as I said he wasn't really awake.
He used to have night terrors regularly when he was little but it's harder now he can physically hurt me  The best thing about them is he doesn't seem to remember anything the next day although I'm always traumatised.
Anyway he seems much better today just a bit knackered (as am I )
Thanks again

Hopefully Chrissie
that will be it now and you will both start to get some proper sleep.

Hi Chrissie,
How is the lttle one today? and yourself of course?

Hi Rose
He's better but still not himself, not poorly but not right either
I've been on my own with him all weekend and he's been clingy, grumpy and had the attention span of a gnat....I'm truly exhausted.
Today work was a welcome break !
He's also been quite sad because his two best friends have left his nursery for nursery's attached to their local schools. He's played with one of them every weekday since he was 7 months old so I understand his confusion and sadness. I think thats making it harder to get him back to his old self.
I don't know how to make it better or even explain why, he looks so lost  The other friend i'm trying to keep contact with on weekends but his best friend I don't really know the family.
We're off on holiday together next week so hopefully some quality mummy & daddy time will put him back to rights.
