Well, not literally (they taste FOUL) but it's here. I reduced today to 2 mgs (from a whopping 2.5). The impatient DD wanted to go to 1mg, but I told her to a) bog off and b) reminded her that it is not worth wasting nine months effort just to wreck things towards the end. I'm not sure she agrees with me but I think I'm right on this one. The next drop will be bigger so she can flaming well hold her horses till then, yes?

I send my best wishes to anyone else who is attempting to come off them. I reckon it can be done, it just takes time. DD

DD, I’m proud of you. Queen of the Pred Drop! And to achieve it when you have so much other rubbish going on is even more to your credit. Quite right to do it by stealth. The inner pred monitors never sleep. Keep beggaring on, my fiend. You’re doing great.

I've never been on steriods long-term but I have come off other medications and it is always best to come off as slowly as possible. It is tempting to do it quickly and get it over with but slow and stead wins the race.

All fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that your body is kind to you. Will be thinking of you. I know this is far from easy but you are a very determined and strong SUPERwoman.

    All the best. ;) x

    Hi DD
You know how proud I am of you coming of those.......but slowly and surely is the best way.
I'm doing nothing like that.....just decreasing my morphine.
    Good luck
    Love

Thank you one and all. I have just confessed to someone that I am wondering if my body is naturally making its own (or at least supplying the shortfall) as generally things are no worse than they were when on 5mgs. I suppose I am lucky in that the OA masks the other quite well at the moment, so my attention is nicely diverted. Arthritis does have its good points.

Ichabod? Oooooh, yes please! Paris here we come!

Hileena? Decreasing morphine takes courage (not the Dutch sort, if I remember right) - come on girl, you can do it. We're with you all the way. DD

Another 24 hours nearer to Predfreeland. Slow, steady & permanent does it.

Ichabod - well done to you too. Watch her in Paris. If she starts her trick with the car keys....well, you've been warned.
