Hello, I've had a really painful day today. My neck/shoulder started feeling like red hot needles stuck in the back of my neck and then a pains shot down my left arm and my head wouldn't move much as very stiff and painful.
I've got more movement and less pain. A funny thing that I've noticed is that a few of my joints have white spots which are hard but small, like seeds! Maybe I've got an alien growing in me!!!
Sorry for the moan, must rest now fingers seem to be finding the wrong keys... heating boiler being changed today and tomorrow so its been stressfull today. Forgive me.
Love Sue xxxxxx

Hi Sue,
I can so sympathise with the neck and shoulder thing, the only thing that shuts mine up i facet medrone jabs and 20 ml of botox into the triggers... the muscles spasms so bad and that just about shuts it up for a few weeks.... they well over due just now
It makes sense to thing the arthritis is a form of alien, I got one growing in my chest and like you I just wish it would burst out... be a bit messy though
Because of the spots on the joints I think you should talk at least to your gp though flower.
Hope you get a comfortable night and things have calmed down by the morning. Good luck with the boiler thing and hope its not too stressful for you. ((( ))) and a hope Sue. Cris xx0 -

I have quite a few white spots here and there, my GP calls them whiteheads, similar to blackheads I suppose but just a different colour. They don't shift but if one does pop out for any reason it leaves a visible hole. I put Savlon on when that happens, just to keep any nasties out.
Necks and shoulders are a nuisance (mind you, any joint that hurts is a nuisance), you don't realise just how much you move your neck, shoulders etc until they start to twang. I hope that resting helps it to ease, what about rubbing in some Voltarol or a deep heat type thing? Would that help? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
sympathies here too. Your neck and shoulders are also where you carry all your tensions (which doesn't help). Physio told me to move head (gently) from side to side as far back as you can a couple of times. (Mine makes awful noises when I do this). Hope that may help a bit. Other than that good old hot water bottle?0

Hi, thank you for the tips and sympathy! I'm still in some pain and I think somewhere a nerve is involved as that is the side the neuro is interested in and it feels strange sometimes, too heavy! I went shopping, just for 3 things all light and a wire basket. Should know better, but feel a twit going round with a trolley with nothing much in it, I had such a job getting through the checkout and carrying it to the car and suffered all day with achey neck and arm! Still, I've decided that from now on, I will use a trolley and not try and push things.
Yesterday, I spent the day resting my arm and thinking things through, I won't let this spoil mine and my husbands life. I've had it for a couple of years and I hope it'll go but, I'm not waiting for that filled with anger . Remind me that I've said this when I'm next moaning and depressed!!! T
Thank you all, lots of love Suexx0 -
Hey Sue!
I know where you are with this, I think, and I'm so sorry you have it! I get pretty much the same sort of symptoms but for me it is definitely nerve involvement, either from damaged disc/nerve pressure or indirect nerve involvement where one of my discs (at the thoracic/cervical spine junction) leaks chemicals that interfere with my nerve. It drives me crazy - it jolts, spasms, the pain is just horrid and my left arm feels heavy and odd too, so I really hope you get some relief soon; two years is too long - it's only been 6 months for me and I'm going mad cos of the permanent pins and needles in my thumb and forefinger!
My osteo dept have made me an appointment for spine traction under anaesthesia to try to pull the disk back. I think chiro after that would help in my case. Anything is good as far as I'm concerned!
I find the arcoxia that I'm prescribed for my RA help with the pain a bit. Tramadol also just about blunts it but only to a degree. Do you use any of those?
Take care,

Hi, Thanks everyone for the support. I'm going on Thursday to the ortho clinic so not long to wait, but when its really bad its long enough. I get cross when my hands don't seem to work properly and I drop or break something, will need some new mugs and plates by the time I've finished! I'm lucky to have a husband who does so much cooking and what not. I feel guilty though as I do snap at him sometimes when he wants to help me and thats unfair, but pain and having to give up doing things makes me like that. I'm going to see a councellor to see if councelling might help me to lower the stress levels, thats on Wednesday afternoon. My GP suggested it might help, so as its local and easy to get to, I'll give it a try. Busy week this week!0
