Hi all
Didnt want you to think I had disappeared again. Im heavily reliant on dihydrocodeine again and falling over alot with joint instability and having a few home problems.
Will be popping on from time to time to see how things are going and hope all is well for you and for those who are not, wishing you feel better soon.

LOve to all
Theresa

Oh Theresa, you be careful with those tablets and the falling isn't good either. I hope you have been able to sort something out for when your OH has his knee (or knees? I cannot remember, I'm sorry  ) done and that you feel better/brighter soon. DD

    Hi and thanks all
THe DHC is the only pain meds i can take that dull the pain that i dont react to. Even then the pain is breaking through quite a bit.Luckily Ive never had an addiction problem with them and once pain settles I can stop them as quick as I started them. I only take it when Im really struggling.
As for OH he hasnt had an appointment through yet so much for urgent eh...
He is also a cause of stress for me at minute as hes so miserable and snappy and I havent got the energy or tolerance for him right now.

    thanks again for the replies

    Theresa

Pain can break through and often on a monotonously regular basis no matter what the dullers, but if they cause you little trouble viz side effects, and help to take off at least the worst of it, then that is what matters. No wonder your OH is snappy, work and pain are not a good mix (as you well know) so these are indeed tough times for both of you. I hope you both find things improving sooner rather than later. DD

the maximum recommended dose is three hundred mg. that's maximum though. And it doesn't matter what form you take them, they do sixties and nineties both in show release form,i was on the nineties, one at morning, one at night then supposedly two lots of two normal thirties through the day. At the end I was having to take these thirties up to six at a time before I could get any relief..

Best of luck though hun.. To you both..

    Hi Tony
I can take 2 of 60 mg slow release on night and morn then if bad I have 30mg up to 4 per day but I never take that much if I'm really bad I take 60 slow release twice a day and after 24 hrs I find it hard to come round properly so less pain but no function. If I Took more I'd never be conscious , still get breakthrough pain but just can't take any more of it. I use diclofenac gel to reduce some swelling in my hands and knees and ankles especially on a night but feel like I should use a whole tube on each joint although I know I can't. But hey it is what it is just need my OH to realise my steroid has now worn off and im struggling again not being lazy as he keeps saying

I think that is terrible of him to say such things.. I know it's nothing to do with me but it is typical of someone who really has no idea what this disease is like and what it can do..
Sorry hun, bit out of order but annoyed for you..

I guess I am just very lucky to have a very understanding other half..
I don't take her for granted though, I know I am one of the lucky ones.

Hope that you have a better day today mi dear..

    Hi Theresa

naughty OH to say that you are lazy

I hope that he is speaking because he is in pain himself and not because he really means it.

Anyrate very good to see you and hope your pain eases very soon.

    Love

    Hi Tony & Toni
Thanks for your replies. It's nothing new really it's been said alot by my oh and his brothers. It is a misunderstanding of RA as somedays I can somedays I can't. Occasionally I can on a day I'm looking forward to doing something but then that usually means that I can do little else later hence I'm lazy and can only manage what I want to do. My bro inlaw says it's a convenient illness.
I think my pain receptors are now numb and things are starting to settle down so I'm minus dhc today to see how I get on. Hopefully I can have a few days without it now.
    Thanks again for your support
