What the Hell is happening to this country of ours?

An Asian MP (lady who's name I cannot remember) has brought up the fact that Asian families are having too many kids and are dong it to get benefits.. Now, if she had been a white, English MP there would be rioting in the streets and death threats etc..
I believe that she has a point myself, not saying that there are not plenty of white numpties doing the same but it is a particular thing in the Asian communities such as Bradford etc..

Just my opinion, not a racial slur before people start griping :roll:

I also have 3 very much loved and cherished gollys which my son bought me years ago to replace a childhood golly friend . Mine are called Winston , Leroy and Nelson and they are loved by friends and family alike . Jillyb

One of my prized childhood possessions is an enamelled Golliwog brooch, I collected labels from the jars, saved up and sent off and I still have it. He's hidden away however, to protect me from the PC brigade.

It's ridiculous that someone can be arrested for such nonesense.. Whoever the arresting officer was must have felt so proud :roll:

It is still just an ornament though. They could be the ones causing the trouble, we just don't know. Still bloody stupid if that's what they are doing her for..

It seems that the woman put the golliwog there on purpose to cause offense to her neighbours who are black, although she denies it of course. People do some horrible things when they get involved in planning disputes, so it seems likely that it was an intentionally racist act.

Golliwogs are seen as offensive caricatures of black people, so in that respect they are insulting and not just harmless toys.

silly thing is Joan, if the other family had put any kind if caricature if a white person in their window it would not be deemed as offensive.. I think people are too eager to jump in the offended wagon these days. Just my opinion though.

I could be wrong but we dint know the whole story can't assume that the lady is the only one in the wrong.
The other family could be playing the much over used race card. Sorry if that offends anyone but it's true..
I hate discrimination bit I hate all forms of it, it's ridiculous how we can have so called positive discrimination... What a load of rubbish that is. Wrong is wrong, and two of them will never make one right..

The trouble is that the golliwog has been seen as a symbol of racism, and there is the association with the term ''wog'', used as a racial slur against dark-skinned people. There is no equivalent toy which could be used as an insult to white people, I don't think.

We don't know the full facts in this case though, and maybe some form of mediation between the two parties concerned might have been better.

I agree about the loony left and the media stirring up trouble, but I'm still not sure whether the majority of black people find it acceptable to have such a racial caricature as a toy.

A fabric doll itself can not be racist; however, a racist person can use it as a tool to incite racism.

I just wish that it wasn't necessary to mention someone's race or colour at all. Why can't we all be seen as individual people, not white, black, or mixed-race :?: I absolutely hate any form of racism, and anything which is symbolic of it.
