Copper and magnetic bracelets

Hello! I'm a newbie (this being my first post!). I was diagnosed about 6 months ago with OA, but realise that I've had symptoms for years without fully realising what it was. I was told to take ibuprofen when it hurts and thats about it! I've tried glucosamine but it doesn't seem to help - I've heard people mention omega 3, so I'll take a look at that.

But as my topic subject shows I wonder if anyone wears a copper bracelet or a magnetic bracelet, and do they help? Was talking to a shop assistant in Argos the other day who had a gorgeous beaded bracelet on that she said was magnetic for her arthritis and it really helped. Any comment on this would greatly assist - don't want to spend the money if its not going to help!

Thanks, and its nice to meet you all!

When i first started with my symptoms i was willing to try anything to help..
My OH brought me a beaded magnetic bracelet, i do wear it daily, but i honestly cannot say it has helped or not.
If it is not too expensive may be worth buying one and seeing if you feel the benefits, i suppose everyone is different..
I am sure others may have well tried this and can give you some more feedback..

Hi, it's nice to meet you. I have two sorts of arthritis and I have tried the magnets but sadly to no avail. Some people swear by them however, and you won't know until you try. Chemists sell copper bracelets quite cheaply so that could be a starting point. There is little evidence that supplements help but again you won't know until you try. I wish you well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Nice to meet you.. Personally I don't think any of that lot helps but for some it may, just not for me..
AS suggested, try getting one if not to expensive.. HOpe you get some relief from something

    Hi Shazza

Welcome to AC and the forum. Regarding the copper/magnetic bracelets, by all means purchase one, but whether it will do any good is debatable, other than boost your morale as you will be wearing a pretty bracelet.

This question appears every now and again and from previous replies, on the whole, we do not think they make much difference,if any, to our aches and pains

Sorry, Shazza. Like the others, I'm a copper bracelet cynic too. If the 'quick fixes' worked we wouldn't be here though, in the past, I guess I've tried the lot. It's meds & exercise only for me these days.

    Hiya
Guess I sit on the fence as well with this one, but having said that whilst on holiday I did pick up quite a nice beaded magentic bracelet for just over a fiver, I figure if it helps all well and good but if it doesn't i still like it as a bracelet so I will keep on wearing it.

    Good luck

    Hi Shazza

good to meet you even if it DOES mean you have the dreaded arthritis

I agree l look back and think there was a lot of stuff l ignored before l actually startedd the ball rolling at the doctors too.

Copper eh?? Not sure if there is any actual evidence, but they are fairly cheap to buy and if you can afford one then you ahve avery right to try one

    Love

Hi Shazza and welcome to the site. I always wear magnets, think they help me but maybe not everyone. Cider vinegar and honey again not sure it helps all and it's quite sharp. Hope you do find something, Consultant told me Glucosomine could maybe work but only early days, the other thinngs old wives tales but I still try them all.
