This has been bugging me for quite some time now and whenever I see it I am just puzzled..

These crummy adverts for lady crap such as the rubbsh they put on their faces or shampoos, things for their eyelids, lips and got knows what else...
Well, they usually give some stats about how many wonderfully ecstatic women like said rubbish... What I don't understand is that most of them give examples like

"83% of 98 wimmin agreed"

Now forgive me if I am wrong but by my workings out that equates to 81.34 wimmin :???: :???:
What does .34 of a wumman look like? Which bit would it be
I am deeply confused, please someone explain, are wimmin in little pieces that they can remove at will?? If so, are vocal chords one of said removable parts  :grin::wink:

Thank you.. Whay are they allowed to put these ridiculous numbers.. Surely a third of a person can't be happy with a product, lol.

Lol..Tony you do make me laugh..
Bet it has your cogs ticking overtime lol..

It is worked out as a ratio, realistically they should round it off to a round number so as not to confuse other such as yourself lol...

Just a ploy me thinks to make you spend more . One moisturiser for right side of body and a different make for the other side perhaps ? Jillyb

The adverts use ridiculous statistics to try to make us feel that if we don't buy a certain product, we're missing out on something that the majority of women are using. The underlying assumption is that women are unable to think or decide for themselves which products to buy. It's also another way of playing on the insecurities about body image which many women feel. Sometimes it seems that women's bodies really do come in bits, so if we aren't perfect in every way, the adverts and media in general like to add to our anxieties. Then they wonder why so many women suffer from anorexia/depression etc.

Guess the stats are much the same as the thing about the average family having 2.4 children. What's .4 of a child look like? :???:
