I was wondering if you could help me to understand the difference between a connective tissue disorder and inflammatory arhritis?
I have inflammatory arthritis and features of a connective tissue disorder. I am unsure whether that is 2 seperate illnesses or a combined mix?
I would be grateful if you could explain the difference between the two.
Thank you.

Hi suzygirl
Thanks for your posting.
Inflammatory arthritis is a type of connective tissue condition.
Connective tissue disorders can he heritable (Marfan syndrome,Ehlers-Danlos syndrome,Osteogenesis or Stickler syndrome) or an autoimmune condition, like Rheumatoid Arthritis,Lupus,Scleroderma or Sjorgeons syndrome.
For more information see http://www.nhs.uk/Search/Pages/Results.aspx?___JSSniffer=true&q=connective+tissue+disorder and http://www.arthritisresearchuk.org/home/search_results.aspx?as_q=connective+tissue+disorder&site=default_collection&num=15&start=0
I hope that answers your question.
