Aw, dear Lynn
I am sure you are feeling shell shocked probably like I was some days ago after my diagnosis from the surgeon. I am so sorry to hear this - I presume you have been diagnosed PMR?
I clicked on the Search button at the top of the screen and typed in polymyalgia rheumatica, clicked on LWA forum and then clicked on Search and there are quite a few pages of past postings . I don't know if you have already done this but it may help you. Would a call to the helplines be of help to you do you think? Even just talking to someone there may well make you feel a little better about this sudden bombshell.
Dear Lynn, I am thinking of you. Sometimes it feels like one rollercoaster after another, doesn't it.
Sending over love and gentle hugs to you,
Elna x

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.
If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

I don't know about PMR but I hope those who do can help. I am so sorry and I hope you find some answers soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I'm fairly confident, and grateful that I know nothing at all about this, Collywobble so no hints or tips from me just a few hopes that things will settle down soon and the confidence that you will cope. Take care.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Lynn,
Well that would explain a lot. I am so sorry to hear this Lynn it must have been a bitter blow for you.
Good idea to step back for a while and take stock.
In a few days you will be more able to ask the question but until then here’s a few (((((( ))))) for you.

Dear Lynn
I was thinking about you and wondered if there were any forums you could have a look at,so I googled polymyalgia rheumatica forum and there are. I don't know if this may help you. As others have said it may be as well to take a breather and step back from it for a while, but if you are anything like me, you will want to be on the case now to finding out answers to any questions that you have. As you say, there's nothing like talking to people with first hand experience, and on a PMR forum you will be able to do just that.
I hope you are able to get a good night's sleep,
You are in my thoughts, dear Lynn,

I am so sorry to hear there is so much sadness in your life at this time plus your health issues. I did not know that. Today has been very upsetting for you. Tomorrow is another day and I hope it may be that little bit easier for you.

Morning Collywobs
I am shocked now  I don't know you have a busy day come back and you have a new diagnosis so you must be very shocked.
I do not know what to say lass, but knowing you you will look at all the info ) as you say someone has alreday kindly sifted out the useless stuff for you), and get your head around it.
It would be wonderful if it was entirely fixable wouldn't it?
Hugs for you Lynn ((((()))))
and a little prezzie...
Elna might need to pass hers over too while she is a bit out of action.

Hi Lynn,
I can't help about the PMR but it is good to get a diagnosis so you can get appropriate treatment as soon as possible.
I was thinking of you this morning and was going to PM you to see how you were. It seems there has been a lot of sadness going on in your life and I am really sorry to hear that.
I didn't realise you had stopped the MTX either but you have to if getting such bad side effects. I do get headaches too when I take mtx but a pile of paracetemol and a day in bed and I'm fine. But it seems your reaction was extreme.
Definately give yourself some time to digest the news.Feel free to PM if you need to offload/share/shout-I'm just getting back on track from school hols now.
All my love

Hi Collywobble, sorry about the latest label. It all seems too much sometimes, and that one thing can be the last straw.
I hope the steroids provide relief for you. I found eating more protein helped the hunger and planning snacks ahead if I was hungry. Its a real hassle but has helped me as I have diabetes thanks to the lovely pred!!!
I am ignorant of PMR other than the basics so I am glad people have helped point you in the right direction.

Hi Lynn
Good to see some people have been able to offer support with this latest blow. Hope you are reeling a little less today and being nice to yourself when you can. I have been thinking of you and hope for better days soon.
love and hugs always ((( )))

I agree....I would be the same. Want to know all the ins and outs of it and what I could do ....if anything and would als like to chat to people that know about it first hand
Sending you ((((((())))))) I hope you are oK this morning.

Hi Lynn
My husband has Polymyalgia Rheumatica & is on prednisolone. It works well for him, he is so much better. Has got down to the low dose at the moment. He is okay as long as they don't take him off it completely, when it is stopped for a while he always has to go back on it. Hope you feel better soon.

Hello collywobble, how are things going today? I hope the pred will help you to feel better in yourself. Don't deprive yourself of all treats - a little pick-me-up is not only deserved but necessary (if not essential!) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
