Hi all

As some of you know, I have OA in both hips, my thumb and possibly my knee. Also, as some of you know I have a daughter with severe special needs.

ANYWAY, on Friday I am proud to say that I completed the 11km Childrens Hospice South West Midnight Memory Walk ........... in 2 hours 15 mins!!!!!!! I am over the moon with myself despite not being able to move much now and having my TENs machine zapping me most of the day. I am not sure how the OA will be this time next year but I really hope that I will be able to take part again.

Love
Beckie X

Thank you so much. I knew that I would suffer but its a cause close to my heart so I was prepared to put up with the consequences. I can't believe that I did it in such a good time. Out of nearly 500 ladies, we were in the first 100 back :-) Go me :-)

I'm afraid I don't know what the charity is. Not that it matters, you still did do well. It would have taken me a week.. Lol

Children's Hospice South West have a hospice here in Bristol called Charlton Farm, they have one in Barnstaple, Devon and one about to open in Cornwall. Thankfully my daughter doesn't have to use the hospice at this time but we never know what is round the corner with her, her health could deteriorate very quickly. Unfortunately she has school friends who use the hospice and who have used it in their last days. They are beautiful places and really support the whole family through awful times.

I was very nervous about doing the walk and at times in the last 2 miles I thought how stupid I was but I did it.

Thank you ALL so much. I did the walk 2 years ago long before I was diagnosed. This year I wasn't sure and didn't register until a week before. Raised £120 in the week and although I am suffering now and walking like I've lost my horse I am SOOOOO pleased with myself.

    Lots of love
