Hi Lynn
So pleased to hear that you've turned a corner with this form of arther and even if it is the steroids that are helping... so be it. To be able to drive again must have been wonderful :!: and to have less pain is something to celebrate!
happy (((hugs)))

I remember my first experience of pred. I took four 5mg tablets at about 2pm on a day late in February 2007 and thought 'Here goes nothing.' (Previous experience of 'these will help matters' had warned me not to get too excited.) Four hours later I could not believe the difference. Gorgeous, lovely, darling, exciting, delicious, treacherous little pills. Yes, it's a fake better but that is better than a not-better-at-all.
The pred will return some 'bounce' to you collywobble and that is important. We all need mental, emotional and even physical 'bounce' to help us manage things and sometimes it matters not how that is achieved. I sincerely hope this will not be a long-term thing but yes, for the time being enjoy the better days. They can be few and far between so make the most of it. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Thats great to hear Collywobble. I am sure the independence of driving again, will feel fantastic. Just be careful not to overdo it!!!0

Hello Lynn
I was so very sorry to hear of the pmr diagnosis on top of the RA but I am so pleased that the pred is giving you some much needed relief. As for not knowing what's round the corner - I've learned over the past few years just to try very hard to take each day as it comes and - if it's a good day to make the most of it. So I think that your "enjoying it while it lasts" is the best attitude to have.
Thinking of you.

Never done the Whatsisname, Collywobble, but ah the pred! We had such a beautiful relationship – twice….or was it 3 times? Those days were some of the best of my arthritic life and non, je ne regrette rien.
You are absolutely right to ‘enjoy the good times’. You’ve earned them. That old philanderer might lead you up the garden path to a bed of roses – not to mention cliches - but I do not begrudge you his company for one moment. And Pred is great company.
I’ve gone all nostalgic now. I’ve got to admit that, long term, surgery’s been a better option for me but Pred was so much fun. Enjoy! If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Well I had a look at polymyalgia whatsitsname (via Arthritis Research)and the Doc did say it is treatable and he seemed quite optimistic!
I hope things improve for you. I know, like DD said you learn not to get too excited in these matters but a little smile is okay for the day isn't it.
All the best

I am so glad that you are feeling better from the steroids..They do wonders for me too..
Carry on enjoying the moment, but make sure you still rest too, don't want to be overdoing it now do you? lol..
I can see the smile on your face, the fact that you are able to do things, i hope that smile can stay with you for as long as possible..xxxxxTracyxx0 -
Hi Lynn
Good to see you and I do hope you are feeling okish about the steriods, the poly whatsit ( I glad you called it that! I can't seem to spell something I can't pronouce!! ) and that you are starting to feel a little brighter.
I know how so very tough things have been lately generally and you so deserve some better days. I still have my fingers crossed for you and the family.

Hi Lynn,
I'm so glad to hear how well you are doing-and feeling! I've never had the 'pleasure'? of steroids so don't know how it feels but it sounds magic Enjoy your new found energy but please watch yourself too.

Dear Lynn
It is so good to read your positive post. So the pred is working. It has made such a difference to you, hasn't it? Being able to drive again will help you so much - I am really happy for you. You are right - as you say, a dramatic improvement, you say it is fake - what the heck, it has changed your life around, so enjoy. Made my day, having read your thread.
Love and gentle ugs

Oooh Lynn! Can we have a separate thread on that, please? With an Over 18s stamp on it.
I'm still trying to get my head round the idea of L Cohen cheering anyone up. Good poet but strictly for the wallowing days. On second thoughts, you & Mr Pred might enjoy Tonight Will Be Fine or Dance Me to the End of Love.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
