Hi all,
I am seeing the specialist rheumy nurse at 1.30 today, got my pain map all marked out (lol) and my diary and also my photos printed off so she can keep them on my files for rheumatologist she said.
I am probably going to be taken of the plaquenil as side effects are horrendous and after 12 weeks now she said they should have subsided...so tad nervous of what they will put me on instead, but we shall see.
I really hope they wont think i am a hypercondriac with my pain map etc, but she did ask and if they dont know what is wrong with you and how it affects you they cant help right?
I have spoken to her many times on phone and she is lovely, so she really did work wonders fitting me in today, so i am hoping she might, just might give me a heads up on diagnosis, as they will have all blood tests that the GP had on thrusday ( and he says it looks like RA)...
God dont you just hate waiting lol....but then i may leave and be none wiser and just wait till 9th November to see a new rheumatologist who i am told is very good.
I will let you know how i go today once im home
Anyway i am sorry im rambling on lol...just waiting for time to pass i guess...ty so much for listening lol....your all great!!
Hope everyone is feeling well today - big hugs for you
Love senna xxxxx

The very best of luck, senna, I am sure she will appreciate all the info with which you are armed as yes, it will give her a clearer picture. We are none of us hypochondriacs, their problems are brain-based, ours are not. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thankyou all for your replies
It was a odd day as i got told by rheumy it is definately not RA as no RF...now i know this not to always be case but thought ok ill go with it for now...my inflammation markers are slightly raised....and even though she agrees i have ''an arthritis'' due to swelling and joint pain , she said there are over 100 of them , we dont knwo yet which one...
she said that they are mor e concerned about my bloods, my white cell count was 122...which apparently is high and im being reffered to a haemotologist for my blood to be looked at more closely and to see if my immune system is working corrrectly as it is currently showing that i have infection, yet i dont feel like i do....and my liver enzymes are worrying them too...
so i went for new blood tests including epstein barr virus amongst others....im pleased they are being very thororugh , and they arent signing me off rheumatlogy,l im still going back to them on 9th november, but i dont know i guess i wanted to know...and i dont...silly i know!
the rheumy nurse saw the swelling agreed it was alot and then saw pics too, and then went off to speak to rheumy who suggested a look at my blood work and what my immune system was doing...
so i wait for refferal, this may or may not come before nov appt...i just thought that a rf factor wasnt that important, and one GP's at surgery said all my blood work pointed in RA direction...im just confused...and feel like fraud for even thinking i may have had RA...but i have only gone on what rheumy told me in june and GP....im sick of waiting...i need to know!
Anyone else feel like this after going to an appt?
Anyone else have blood tested like this? and immune system checked?
Btw for those of you who do ever wonder about the funny bone sensation in arm and pins needles....the rheumy nurse told me today it was due to swelling and nerves being pinched...so i thought id pass it on
Thanks for your sweet thoughts....bless u all - hugs!!
Love to all...

it is do frustrating having appointments like that but it must also frustrate them. I've had no positive RF factor, was told that it was sero-negative inflammatory arthritis. Have had a few similar appointments though. Last one was some doctor that was very hard to understand, just said 'oh I don't think it is, hasn't another depo injection and come back in six months' I'd give back as I was really struggling. Things have got even worse since then with my elbows getting worse, similar pain and sensation as you describe, kind of like someone is pushing the funny bone but the pain our whatever travels right to my wrist..
Shoulders have been joining in on a morning too..
Oh,.ain't it sgml just great fun
I hope they get your blood sorted and the rest, sooner rather than later..
Best wishesMe-Tony
