Morning berty
Because I have a prosthetic leg, the sleeve that holds it on which comes into contact with the skin can become very itchy and sore. I have to put a dab of vaseline around the said area. Would that help you? It works for me. That was the advice of the prosthetic person.
Hope you find a solution soon

When I wore one I used to slip a thin hanky or something cottony between my leg and the bar where the strap went in hot weather. It's heat rash. Occasionally I'd just to leave it off for a while. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Dear May
That is good news that things are calmer now for you. Do you think the itchiness could be part of the healing process although the weather is extremely hot which cannot be helping matters. Could you scratch the back of your hand instead to try to take your mind off your leg? I wish I could be more helpful, but I do sympathise.
Thinking of you,
Love

I'll take 'tatty' over 'itchy' any day.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

physio have finally returned my phone call told her how i had dealt with the issue , you cant do that it will be bulking the brace out , excuse me its as thin as a hanky , well you had best come in on Wednesday to see us , did tell her it would have been nice to know before my op that a brace would have been part of the recovery issue , so i could have modified my wardrobe a little struggling to find stuff to ware at the moment xxI know i am a lady ,all life is a journey xx MAY xx0 -
Hi
I get heat rash from my knee brace, even when it’s not all that hot (I think as it’s neoprene it sort of creates its own heat). When I can, I wear it over my leggings – not particularly attractive, but saves the itching. I find that at night, when I don’t have the brace on, the skin can get itchy still, and as my fingers then have access to it I absent mindedly scratch for ages, which brings up massive red welts where I’ve been a bit over-zealous! My trick there is to put socks on my hands before bed: cue inability to scratch! Again, not attractive, but it works!
Not sure if that’s at all helpful, but I hope the itching goes down soon. (And now I’ve written itching and scratching so much, I’m getting all tingly and itchy just thinking about it!!).
