I see, from the bottom of the main page, that our newest...er...member is DrCialisOnline. Now, call me a cynical old b….. (and many do) but my guess is that Dr CialisOnline might be a spammer. If I can spot this, why can’t those who regulate the forum?

give them a chance they have to be carefull not to block some one who needs the forum. but you are quite right does sound like spam to me as well are we aloud to block spammers what about there human rights sorry just a random thought that crossed my mind lol spam is best in frittersval0 -
Actually, it never occurred to me that it was a job for the Mods.
I just assumed that there would be some controls at source and that such an obvious spammer name would never be passed as a forum member in the first place. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Not that I know a lot about Cialis, but I never thought erectile dysfunction was a problem with RA! :shock:No-one was injured in the making of this signature, however, quite a few electrons may have been inconvenienced.0

Finlay nearly got away with it didn't he? It was easy enough to spot he wasn't the real deal, despite the single name. I find it odd that on my little laptop I have never had one single spam message from anywhere. Instead of taking away the edit and delete buttons perhaps those with lots of pens in their top pockets could address this issue instead. It would be more helpful and save us reporting posts. Now that little red exclamation mark is one button that HAS to stay. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

The problem is that spammers are always trying to crack the security needed when they join so battling them is a hard job. No doubt further security will be in place to help prevent it but it takes time, the 'Webmanager' is only part of what he does for Arthritis Care and cannot devote himself full time to the forum.
Please continue to use the red report button (It will stay DD) as it makes moderating easier. PM jean123 or Moderator if you have any suspicions about a new member.

I am glad to hear the red button will stay, could you also enquire as to whether the edit/delete buttons will be brought back? For those with typing difficulties the inability to edit could be particularly difficult as it could force extra (and un-necessary) typing. For those of us with hurty hands that is not helpful. (I know this as I have hurty hands from time to time.) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

The only person who can make changes is the Webmanager who is away at the moment but I will make sure this thread is brought to his attention upon his return.

I'm also finding it a nuisance that we haven't got the edit/delete buttons any more. If we make an error, we have no way of correcting it now. Also, there are times when we might want to delete a post, but we are now unable to do so.0 -
After you have submitted your posting you can view it and use the delete and edit buttons............

I think that option disappeared at one point Elna. I believe it's back now though.
I'd still like my post count back. No big deal I know but I liked it. Who else can I read bedtime stories to? :shock:Me-Tony

I can edit and delete for a short time after I've posted, but then the buttons disappear, so I can't go back to a post later. Am I the only one :?: I'm sure it wasn't like that before unless I'm having a senior moment
Break the news gently to me if that is the case  :shock:0 -
PS.........It just happened again :!:
I keep getting a very bossy message, You can no longer edit or delete that post.
I know, I've noticed :shock:0 -
Buttons have gone again, and that's my 8279th post BTW.0
