Well good results from the GP.....after saying that they had found it difficult to decipher the results of the scan because of the scoliosis and the arthritis she said the bottom line is you still have osteopinia but no osteoporosis and the advice from the hospital is a lifestyle change or calcium tablets.
She said "I wouldnt advice the calcium tablets, they are horrible and chalky and this is a lifelong thing" if you can add calcium to your diet that would be better. so at least 1 pint of milk a day.....exchange a bit of the milk for some cheese or yoghurt and that is it.
So I'm pleased with that.....
Doubt that I'll know anything this afternoon from the consultant....its just about my gallbladder and is a consultation....nothing else.
Oh yes....nearly forgot....she has decreased the morphine I was put on for the fratured pelvis and SI joint. Started at 60 mg a day, then 40mg a day, then 20mg a day now 10m a day {2 x 5mg a day}
Thats a result ...I would tbhink I'll be off them when I finish this prescription.
Well........ consultant this afternoon

Hi Hileena
Thats a good post
More calcium added in the form of proper food rather than tablet form is a much nicer idea.
And brilliant news that you have reduced the morphine even further.
Good luck with your consultation this afternoon

that does sound good Hileena , if you can get what you need from food thats better than taking meds , and a reduction in morphine is brilliant good luck for your appointment later xxI know i am a lady ,all life is a journey xx MAY xx0

That all sounds very positive, so pleased for you, Hileena. All the best this afternoon and do let us know any news,
Look after yourself, drink plenty of milk and eat cheese, I love cheese. A much better option than chalky calcium tabs. Yuk!
Keep smiling as you always seem to do, which is great, but I don't know how you continue to do so, sometimes, with what you have/are going through. a big gold star is on order for you.

Firstly, I am so pleased about the scan result, that is very edifying news and I am delighted! Hoorah for hileena!
Secondly, I hope she meant skimmed milk - that has the highest calcium content of all. Another good source is mini-milk ice creams, they are the lowest in calorie count of ices and have a high level of calcium. Mr DD had a nibble of cheese every evening, he loves strong cheddar and it was only a nibble but as a result of this habit his cholesterol has shot up over the past year and he has had to cut it out. Calcium tabs may be a little chalky but they get the job done without raising cholesterol which is a useful feature.
Thirdly, at the risk of repeating myself, I am so pleased about the scan result! Yippee! Woo-hoo! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Thank you all......Yes I'm so pleased about that result.....
I drink skimmed milk anyway. I also eat yoghurts andn cheese.....{try not to eat too much cheese...puts the weight on}
The only thing is as some of you know my appetite has gone, and I'm nauseaus all the time these days.....they think its my gallbladder. When I get my eating back to normal that will be no problem. I'll be back to Slimming World and that is part of their eating plan.
I dont want any more tablets Although she has decreased the morphine again {pleased about that} and also said what about "knocking the naproxen on the head" but she has given me a repeat prescription for it but I'll see her before the next lot and discuss this.....She seemed to think stop them......that would leave me on paracetamol :sad: and nothing else...well no pain killers or anti inflamms....dont think thats enough for my OA and scoliosis :sad: still be on ferrous supph and my epilepsy tablets but that has nothing to do with OA.
Never mind.....consultant is next .....in about 2 hrs time. About the gallbladder but its only going to be a consultation so am not expecting anything much from today
