Hi all
Sorry Ive been a bit absent lately my hands are very sore as are my feet and my eyes are dry so Im struggling to read.

My good news my ESA renewal has gone through without the need to be degraded and called a liar at a medical   I think my GP's detailed letter did it.

Other news I had my 2nd rheumy appointment with the new nice rheumy. She saw me at my best (ish) now shes seen me at my worst. She feels Im an auto immune lady as I have RA, Hashimotps thyroiditis, vitiligo and now possible bowel issue (waiting for my appointment) Its nice to be believed not like that awful one who questioned my truthfullness.
She said I needed another steroid...but......... I cant have one til next week when I see the gastro consultantant then if he wants to do more I may not be able to have it til I have further tests and get diagnosis  so near so far its like torture...
Something to look forward to eh..

Theresa

Grand news, Theresa. As you say the steroid injection may be delayed but I am sure you will be able to have that soon. I wish you all the best with your gastro appointment next week. I had to see a gastro last year because of problems. My diagnosis was IBSD and that got sorted with taking amitryptyline at night.

It's good to hear some encouraging news from you Theresa4, and I hope the nice rheumatologist can get you sorted sooner rather than later. I also hope the hands etc improve soon too. Take care. DD

Hi Theresa, it's lovely to see you post.

I'm so glad your ESA was re-instated without further ado... it is a horrible experience feeling that you're not believed!! so well done your doc for supporting your application.

Your new rheummy sounds very caring... so hang on to her with both hands.(oops  ) It is so good that finally you are being listened to and further tests etc have helped with a diagnosis.

As for the steroid jabs... I'm sure your gastro man will do what's in your best interests. If that means waiting a bit for the jabs in the short term (painful though that is) to allow a more comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan , then maybe it's worth it?

Things are on the up Theresa and that's wonderful to hear.

Thankyou all for your replies it's so good to be Able to share good new sometimes. I'll be so glad when I can have my steroid but I know it's no use having it before I see the gastro consultant or he'll send me homE saying nothings up.
In the meantime things are pretty bad so my posts will be at a minimum as my fingers and wrists are really sore but I will be keeping an eye on you all x

that's good news about both the esa and the new rheumy..
I'm waiting to see the gastro too  IBS is extremely bad lately and doc just wants to make sure nothing else is going on.. I suppose it's for the best..
Sixth of december my appointment.. I've recently been put on alverine and peppermint tablets three times a day. It's definitely doing something as I got much worse when I stopped taking them to see if they were working.. Still not controlling it fully though. I've had to stop all red meat  And wheat..

Anyway, best of luck mi dear

Lovely to hear your good news Theresa. ESA is a massive worry and stress to many people on the forum, as if we don't have enough to contend with as it is. A decent rheummy is very helpful and you will benefit from their input i'm sure.

Sorry you have to wait for the steroid injection as this would be the icing on the cake. Hang on in there.

    All the best

    Hi Elizabeth
Thank you yes the steroid is indeed the icing on the cake.

    Tony
I've been wheat free, potato free, red meat free, soya free, for years as my stomach cant tolerate any of them as for peppermint it didn't help. My gp thinks iBD as it gos with sero neg RA really well but there could be other explanations so we will wait and see.

I have just received my personal appointment at the job centre to discussy options with an advisor. As it clashes with my gastro appointment I must take proof I had a hospital appointment. I also discussed that I may need urgent use of a bathroom during the interview so they have kindly said they will allow me use of the staff barhrooom if needed   they may regret that :green There are no public loos in there.

Oh joy so they are ringing me next fri afternoon after my gastro app to see when I can go. I can't wait. I really don't see the point in all this my gp clearly said I cannot work yet I need a helpful interview to discuss options yeah right the last one was about what work had j done what could I do now what are my limits hows that not about work?
it's a waste if my time and tax payees money.
