Still here

Hi everyone,
I hope you’re all limping along as well as you can. Just thought I’d drop by and let you know I’m still here! I’ve been keeping up reading etc but haven’t had as much time to post recently. However I am around and everyone who needs me on pocket duties has had me in their copious pockets (could you not feel the ten tonne weight dragging that left jacket pocket down? That was me, sorry. The diet has stalled a little...).
After I finally saw the ortho, I’ve been told ‘nope, we’re not going to do anything with your knee(s) after all. You’re too young, too fat, and we’re too poor.’ essentially. So I’m left to limp along until I can either afford to go private (not an option) or I am in my 70s (long, long, long way away yet). I’m also waiting to have blood results from the thyroid man which were taken three weeks ago, which is a bit annoying, as he was convinced my meds would need to be upped and that would help with all the joint pain.
But, apart from that, I’m ticking along as well as can be. Got to find the positives in this life, eh! ‘Life may not be the party we expected, but we might as well dance while we’re here’ I heard the other day. Pretty applicable, no? (Although for most of us we’re limited to dancing around crutches/walking frames/chairs/other people, it still counts as dancing, right?)
My thoughts to you all, and wishing you a lovely relaxing, as-painfree-as-possible evening,
WW

Hi Wannabe,
It seems to be a familiar story, re 'too young, fat we're too poor' what good does that do to anyone? Ive not personally been told this but have seen it time and time again on here  but you're quite right in trying to remain positive, I do my best not to let PA get me down, even though my shoulder is causing sleepiness nights and intense chronic pain it won't ever beat me I'm too stubborn for that
It's lovely to hear from you, do keep in touch, and stay positive 'whatever doesn't kill you will make you stronger' and all that
Love and a one armed hug (((((( X'grá agus solas'

What a lovely positive post and thanks for sharing the outlook on life we could do worse eh?
We haven't met... so a big Hello from me.. and it's nice to meet you.
I do hope that you will get your thyroid results back soon and your meds adjusted..... but I am sorry to hear that you're not having your knees 'done' for all the wrong reasons. :!:

Hi WW
It is good to know that you are still here and looking in, even if you are not posting. That is ridiculous not getting your thyroid result and three weeks have gone by. Is he hibernating or something? Can't his secretary help you or would your gp have the results by now? Never mind about the diet stopping for a while, you can always get back to that. There appears to be so much of this post code lottery and it just ain't fair.
I do hope that you hear about your thyroid results soon because if you need the thyroxine upped or vice versa that should be sorted and could make you feel heaps better or even a little bit better and one less thing to worry about.
Look after yourself and so good to see that you can see positives shining through the negatives.
