bit worried now

So i was going thru the posts and saw one which inclued going cold turkey,i am on dihydrocodeine,i have been perscribed upto 8 a day but at the moment can get away with just 4,read tonys reply about him coming off them and going cold turkey,so how long is it safe to take them before addiction sets in and what amount,gp and rhemmy havent said anything about addction.Mig

    I am on Tramadol..
    I take 8 a day but if it is a good day i will probably half this as i don't like to take them if i don't really need to..
    I am sure someone will be able to answer better though..
