I hate the waiting game about meds..
Well recently (couple of months) I thought I was having a flare up and it would pass, not helped by going back to my job as a teacher or the dogs major surgery and being diagnosed with arthritis. Anyway after a trip to the anti TNF nurse on Monday she told me what I had been expecting, this is not a flare this lovely disease has taken a step up. Knew it all along but didn't want to acknowledge it, normally only get severe constant pain in joints when having a flare but last couple of months no let up in pain in my joints anytime day or night. Now it's the waiting game again, nurse speaking to consultant then I have to go back on 28th in the meantime pop the pills and pretend I am fine. I suppose they will just increase the methotrexate dose which means more time to wait for it to work!
I know there are people much worse off than me and I am sorry to moan about it but needed to get it off my chest (really helps) and it's soooo getting me down lately.
Now I am going to get a very, very large glass of wine, bar of chocs and watch the pride of Britain awards and feel even more guilty for writing this when I see those incredible people.
Oh well enough self pity for now peeps, I have lots of wine (hangover at work tomorrow) and big bar of choc calling me ......... i'm coming. Xx.

Hi Anky
l am sorry that things look like they have worsened for you. With all that going on it was fair enough you hoped it would be a 'temporary flare'
Yes you are going to be back waiting patiently for meds to kick in while taking your painkillers like a good girl.
Here you go the first glass is on me Did someone say wine has anti-inflammatory properties??

You have to hang on to things and they are trying to help just sometimes it all feels so slow. Your gong to be ok though and the better days do come.

Hi guys, thanks so much for the replies, the wine is helping!
Toni, hoped it was temporary but no such luck, ah well hope they will get it sorted soon. Well I always thought the same thing about wine having anti inflammatory properties how strange! Xx
Val, thanks I needed the moan. Xx
Chris, thanks for the hug was much needed. I know there will be better days to come just feels like had too many bad ones recently. I am already on Anti TNF which is brill on my back and hips but doesn't touch my knees, ankles, toes, heels, wrists, fingers ........etc. I am also on methotrexate, Cocodomol, naproxen you know how it goes. Sending you a virtual glass of wine. XxAS Sufferer

Thanks for the wine flower.
Can they change your drugs and see if another combination will help with the pain and inflammation at all?
Hang in there and hope so much the better days will start for you soon. Another ((((( ))))) and a bucket of hopes. Cris xx0 -
It's a right pain in the jacksy when that horrible pain is constant,, really does get you down, and it's understandable,, hopefully with an increase in meth you will feel an improvement, .. in the meantime we will be here to support you along the way..
(((((X)))))
Hope you feeling better soon luvie...xxTracyxx0 -

Cris think they will increase the methotrexate but not very convinced to be honest, we all know meth can take up to six months to kick in I will be suicidal by then. Thanks means so much. XxAS Sufferer
