Apple founder Steve Jobs has died, aged only 56.
Regardless of what you think of apple (cough, money grabbing conglomerate) they paved the way for every smart phone on the market and much more..

Very young to die eh?

Very sad to hear of anyone dying that young, terrible disease takes so many young and old.

I know the downfalls of money grabbing apple but I am a big fan of products I have the iPhone, iMac, iPod and iPad (can't justify the iPad my husband just spoilt me). X

I too am saddened by Steve Jobs death, I know that all cancers are terrible, but pancreatic cancer is awful. My mother in law died within 6 months of being diagnosed with it, her suffering still makes me cry, and to be told by her Drs that no one survives this one for long was unbelievable at first but only too true at the end.
    RIP Steve Jobs.

He was an odd bloke who designed products but let's not forget it was a Brit who made them so stylish. I remember SJ blamed his consumers for not holding one version of the iphone correctly when it fact it was poorly engineered (by him). DD

In the end it was more to do with money than anything else, his view or so he said was to give computing to "the masses" but like always with the yanks he was really only into money otherwise he'd have sold his stuff for a lot less so the average person could have afforded one, Give them or him his due though their system is very good it's just sad I won't be able to own one of them, we looked in the Reading apple store and the prices were way out of our leauge.
I'm still not sold on the I pad it's an evolutionary dead end in my mind, but then again who the feck am I to talk I'm just a pleb who shovels s**t for a living!.

Agreed, heck like I said I have an Iphone AND a Blackberry, I love Ipods because of the capacity and what can do with them, I would never buy a MAC because I like Microsoft too much but like the product or not Steve Jobs did alot for apple, worked through it, made the company better after it nearly went bust and gave happiness to lots of peeps...

And remember to have lived as long as he has fighting Pancreatic Cancer he should be honoured as its not always survivable, my mums colleague died from Pancreatic Cancer in June and she only had it for a year before it claimed her life.

And to think he was only 3 years older than my mum :(.
