and feeling very low. Thankyou all for being there........you did help, and Val, thanks for kicking the right people. My poor foot looks so ugly. I've got a massive Z shaped scar going from the side of my big toe right down to the middle of my foot. 15 stitches in that and boy did they hurt coming out!! Smaller scar in small toe and nowhere near as sore. Only 2 stitches in that. One of the pins in big toe has started to disappear inside my foot and hurts like hell. Surgeon says he can't do anything about that until 4 weeks time at which point he may have to cut me to get it out! In the meantime, keep taking the trammies and paracetomol. At least I have a proper plaster cast which is a lot lighter. When they asked me what colour I wanted I said multicolour please and that's just what I got!! Lol. Red, white and purple stripes!!
(And this time, I didn't just get a hug from gorgeous consultant!!! He kissed me too!)
I have to go back next Friday to check the wound.

Aw, bless you Sue. No wonder you are feeling down and I am so sorry that the stitches hurt when they came out. The scar will lessen, but I am so sorry about the pin complication. These things happen, unfortunately. Well, at least you are making a statement with the jazzy plastercast and what a lovely consultant you have. I remember you saying he was gorgeous. Mind you, you did earn the kiss, didn't you. No doubt you are not going to wash your face for a week now.
You will be expecting a kiss next Friday then, of course.
Thinking of you, you brave girl.
Love and gentle hugs

Well, he's hugged you, kissed you, now comes the candlelit dinner. He's only after one thing cloud9 and that's the pin in your toe: don't let him have his wicked way.
You poor thing, no wonder life has been so uncomfy. Keep up with the dullers my lovely, they will keep the worst of it at bay, rest up tonight - most hospital visits are draining on us and this sounds like it was a particularly tough one. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Ooohhh a kiss from him how nice, at least your on the mend. Sorry I missed pocket duties xxAS Sufferer

Hi Sue,
Glad today is over for you and no mention of heamatoma problems, so I assume that is good news (though sorry to hear about the pin)
I know the scars are appalling but I am sure if you look at the ones from your Triple Arthro last year you'll see how quickly they fade. Anyway your doc seems to quite fancy you even with the scars by the sound of it
I hope the plaster cast is just around your foot (and not the ankle) and I hope it is nice and comfy - good for you getting innovative with the color scheme!
(I remember now when I had the toe, bunion, tendon transfer thing done 10 years ago on the other foot - I had forgotten about the pins holding it all in place, they really do hurt! I had a tattoo done of a butterfly on a chain of leaves across the top of that foot a couple of years later to give people something else to look at!!! - we girls still have to try and look after our appearances)
Hope you sleep well and keep your spirits up xxCAROL (Cacyhi)0 -
Thankyou all very much. The pain is a little better now and I've had some lovely cuddles from my grandson. I'm very tired now so I may have an early night. Not too early though or I'll be awake at an ungodly hour. You're all so lovely. XXSue (Cloud9)0

Oh Sue,
I am sorry that you have had the extra complication, not nice at all. I like the multi coloured plaster though I bet that went down well with your grandson.
Hopefully things will settle down a bit over the weekend for you.

Hope you sleep well Sue, bet you feel better now that today is over. I hope the pin doesn't cause anymore problems for you. I bet the jazzy cast looks great, you lucky thing a kiss from good looking consultant and cuddles from your grandson too what a day Maybe Bi* Oil will help with scars once they feel well enough to try it, it does work.

well done you!!!
how ever did I manage to miss the mention of a dishy consultant? trust me to have been looking the wrong way from your pocket  Oh well, I'll just have to come in your pocket next time then
I really like the sound of your cast! THere's nothing like making a statement and giving people something other than the blindingly obvious to talk about
Rest up as much as you can, and I really hope that the pin becomes less bothersome for you.
hugs ((()))
