Hi, Sorry I'm not around much at the mo but all the energy is going into getting through the working day just now!! I am reading but not posting much. Anyway, just a quick message that I have finally got to the point of getting a date for surgery - hip arthroscopy on Nov 9th, so I will have plenty of time for posting afterwards! Am scared but relieved as cannot continue like I am for much longer and the consultant is hopeful I'll get a good result. Will catch up properly with you all soon, very best wishes, Josie x

Oooh, about a month before re-discovering a more comfortable life - how exciting! I wish you the very best and I hope it all goes smoothly. Have you read the sticky at the top of this board - tips for going into hospital, I think that's its name, it has some very handy info and ideas. DD

    Hi Josie

Welcome back again. Great news that you have got an op date now. In about May time you were going to see a consultant about this op if I remember rightly?

 You will indeed have lots of time to be on the forum. Look forward to seeing you on here more come November time. I wish you well with your forthcoming op. I am on here loads at the moment as I have not long had a spine op at the neck end and the post op recuperation time is a good few months.

    Enjoy your weekend,

    Love

    Hi there

That is very good news and I shall certainly be in your pocket for the day of the operation. You will be nervous, you wouldn't be human if you weren't. Put your mind to rest I had mine done 5 months ago now and I have a lot less pain and a lot more mobile on that hip, it is well worth it.

Hi, I remember well that struggle to carry on working in the lead up to the op. Prioritise and only do what you really need to do. At least the end to the struggling and pain is in sight.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
