Hi im not too good at moment arther is stamping all over me back and neck sending shooting pains every where. Ive been to doc twice doubled my pain killers first time this time i have to have NABUMETONE. Two at night already but he has told me to have another in morning also rather than giving me tematol to try. He checked my kidney as this is the slightly embarrassing bit. I wet self in Salisbury and this morning only a bit. I took urine sample in. This turned out ok. I am going out to see THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST on stage at the old rep in Birmingham ham i just hope i dont embarrass self there and also i can enjoy show with out arther being horrible to me. I might take a small cushion to slide up my back for comfort i had not had much sleep last night. any way thats my update. thanks for reading from Joanne

Dear Joanne
You can always wear Tenna pads I think they are called or get similar via your gp on script if you are having problems. At least you would feel safer going out and when you go to the theatre. It is not a good idea to start drinking less because you may become dehydrated and that will not be good.
Enjoy the performance when you go and try not to worry too much. I do sypathise because for a time I suffered with IBSD and was a nervous wreck when going out sometimes, for fear or what might happen, in fact I stopped going too far for a while. Thank goodness it has been sorted for me by taking amitriptyline at night.
Chin up,
Love

Take the cushion, Suncatcher, and try to keep shifting position. And walk about in the interval.
I know nothing of the meds you mention but might they be acting as muscle relaxants and working on muscles you'd prefer not to relax?
Don't forget there are such things as Tenalady and even incontinence pads should you need them for the theatre. A good friend of mine, who had Muscular Dystrophy, was always an inspiration in how she just calmly accepted the need for things such as this that would, before I met her, have freaked me out. She never let anything stop her.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Pad up my girl and get thee to a good night out. As sticky says sometimes the meds side-effects are more than we can comfortably (and sociably) handle, but there are always ways and means around matters. I hope you have a good time - and if it's a comedy take some spares for the interval! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
