Cant live with them, cant live without them.

Have tried straps and strapless. Straps hurt shoulder, strapless useless.

Anyone any ideas, and Tony keep it clean

Actually I've managed to live without one for years but, never having had much to put in them in the first place......

Lucky you Sticky, I am one of the lucky/unlucky ones that do have ample to use one and to do so hurts.

I am being serious, this is becoming more of a prob for me, so no clips or tape ideas please!!

    Hi Clare,
I have the same problem, I need support but can't often wear a bra as it presses on my arthritic ribs  I now wear cotton elastic strap vests from M&S I think it's a 2 pack for around £12. They do help and more importantly they don't hurt  x

    Trust Del.

Have you been to be measured and fitted properly and having a good chat with the fitter about the problems you are experiencing?

    Hi

What about the sports type ones or sloggi style ones that give some support? Difficult one...

    Hello CJ Hunter
I am new to the Forum and pleased to make your aquaintance. Two suggestions from my own experience:
"Ahh Bras" - you can find them on e bay or google them for suppliers - see what you think?

Secondly, I buy stretchy lycra cami/vests that are underwired at the front and cut them off to bra length. so I have no fasteners at the back to rub on my damaged disc.

I know its a problem more if you are "well endowded" as you need more support. Surfing e bay after a search for "comfort bras" will bring up lots of different types.
    Goodluck in finding something comfortable.

I'm one that very rarely wears one. To restricting, obviously if I am going out then I will have to, but under normal circumstances they are a no no.

    Hi,
I can't wear them either due to fractured vertabrae.I have tried different types and can get away with comfort ones that don't fasten at all but I buy 1 size bigger only same cup size.
I only wear one when I'm going out and whip it off the minute I come in.
Sports tops are ok as well.
    Sorry I can't help more.

    hi Clare,

SO with you on the strap and the shoulders.

i hate the dam things and don;t ware one often but wouldn't go anywhere that i have to take my jacket off  if i do have to i have gone over to the sports ones as they are either pull on or easy to fasten.

i do the armchiring too much but woke up and it ad gone over to the shopping channel and they had some on there that pull on and are supposed to give good support and i might just try one..... good luck and hope you find one that's comfortable. Cris x

Yes, I buy a size bigger and with a wide band and straps, I do them up at the front and twist them round at the back pull it up and just put the straps over my arms I take them of in reverse order. Not very sexy, I know, but it works. I don't bother on days that my hands really hurt, I just put a vest type tea shirt on and something over that and bother who notices. I'm a medium sort of size!!! Love Sue

    So rule of thumb is:
If dont have to dont wear one,
Take it off as soon as poss,
Wear anything that resembles a vest with scaffolding in,
and dont take your jacket off if you aint wearing one

Ok all sound good advice, maybe need to invent something

    Thanks all.

    xx

As a 40G I loathe the barsteward things. I cram myself into one for work, or if I am going into the public world, the rest of the time it all heads south. Vanity left by the front door when arthritis crept in via the back. DD

I am also fairly ample ( 36 DD ) , and have found straps too painful for ages . I now wear strapless all the time and find it far more comfortable . Jillyb

    Hi
Have you seen Sl0ggi bra? they just pull over your head, quite wide comfy straps. They are nice and comfy and you don't have to take them off for any x rays. I always wear one of those and tie pants for x rays and neither have to come off

oooh the things you learn on here, its just brilliant.

Just for the record, if you buy your bras at Tesco go for a size larger ie if you are a 36c go for a 38c a they are a little too snug around the rib cage.

Yeah was told about Geinie bras or Ahh bras by my massage therapist, and guess what???

I had a package arrive today with my pack of three. They are the most comfortable, supportive bras ever.

    Wow
