You daft ard northern monkey anyone knows big foot is a myth unlike Aliens, I’ve been abducted several times now and I can tell you that rectal probe isn’t much fun.
Last time they abducted me I asked them why my a**s?, their retort via telepathy was that they have seen our leaders on TV signals for many years so they know it’s where humans talk out off, they also asked me why do we have teeth up our bums?.
Next thing I knew was I came to in the back garden at 4am with a terrible hang over type head ache having left the pub at 11,30 or there abouts honest!.

of course bigfoot is real, I once saw him in B&Q. He was checking out the wallpaper sale. His wife Gurtrude wanted flock. He preferred bare bark.

I think I also saw Michael J Fox in the gardening centre, it could have him, wasn't 100% sure though as he had his back to the fuscias

I see Egypt is a shinning example how Christians and Muslims get on ie cat and dog.
Why is it religion always espouses how it/they hold the moral high ground above us mere plebs but then uses this inflated opinion to drive the moronic two dimensionally flat Earth followers who a) believe all the guff these guys spout and b) can’t handle the fact we/they are just meaningless little monkeys on a ball of rock in space, those who think this way are insecure and so are primed for manipulation by some power crazy t***t who says he’s got a phone line to the big man so his word is Gods word (when he hasn’t and it isn't) so it’s OK to go and smash the face in of those heathens over there, and anyway they follow the same God but via a slightly different angle so are in league with the devil so it’s ok to go and kill them all and thier off spring with your bare hands, then steal all their shinny things, just so long as the church gets the gold for it’s alters.
God there goes me spleen del!.

All I said was this fish would be good enough for Jehovah!!, Hey bring back my drum ya git!!!.

Right.. Personal thoughts.. I did used to go to church ad a kid, and as daft as it sounds I still class myself as CofE even though I don't believe I'm God anymore.. And, as much as I take the mick, in a way I envy those that do.. If that makes sense...

well, I have had a little read and each to their own belief, or not, as the case may be.
I too am Church of England, with Dad, (God rest his soul) being a Vicar, I was sort of in the thick of it. At no time was I expected to go to Church, nor was the Bible pushed down my throat, I was left to make my own choices.
To say that there is nothing, beyond this world, as in after we pass away, I cannot accept, I have seen too many things, as a nurse, that leave me in no doubt that there is, what you could call, a better place. Heaven is an earthly term, written eons ago in ancient texts. I believe there is another dimension, where the souls who have gone, are there to be with us, then the time comes, which rests my mind. I guess we will all find out one day. I know I am still grieving, but this is something I have had with me, all of my adult life.
I think I have wandered off the topic. Forgive me, for rambling on.

Discussions about religion are always a sensitive area, and I think we should show respect and tolerance, whether we are believers or non-believers. We are lucky to have religious freedom in this country, and it's for every individual to follow their own path. We might not understand the faith of others, but we can respect their right to a religious belief.

I agree with Bubbles that there is another dimension. I think that the souls of people live on in all of us. I certainly feel that many times, and I can't accept that this is all there is.

I believe there is something more than this world. I am in awe of the universe and how it's just existing. How, as far as we know, there are no other life forms close by to wave to or communicate with, but I also don't believe we are the only things alive on rocks floating around in the great expanse of space and time.

I hold great value in the moon and stars and all things mystical (although I'm not pagan, I agree with a lot of the values and principals), and feel a strong connection to the earth, ley lines and my belief that we were once far more useful than we are now.

As in, we used far more primitive senses and probably were able to manipulate objects, had greater physical and mental strength and maybe even project ourselves such as the walker who could travel through the ground, or use ley lines to travel.

I'm not ruling stuff like that out either as there is too much to say it could have been true.

I don't believe in one almighty being, but I do believe there is more to us than flesh and bone, that we do have souls and that those souls go somewhere even if is another dimension or even returned to the earth.

I don't know if this is an original thought or if I've heard it elsewhere but I believe any form of religion is a soporific for a lot of people. Perhaps it my take on opium for the masses.

Consumerism has become the new opium for the masses - but unlike religion which really can provide comfort and contentment, consumerism creates a truly illusory delusion of happiness and one which requires ever higher dosages to fill the void. It is also certain, ultimately, to fail.

As a nation we've turned to consumerism as a quick fix to the problem of attaining happiness. We build our temples in the form of out of town shopping malls - ever larger, ever more grand - and worship at the altar of our new gods - Ikea, Next, Sony and so on - every Saturday and Sunday. We give generously of our wealth in return for a shiny, new possession which we will display and worship at home.

Welcome to the new secular atheist religion - the new opium for the people. Unlike Christianity, it won't help you achieve happiness and you'll end up deep in debt, but at least you'll be able to be miserable comfortably. For a while, anyway.

My faith is everything to me, I take an active part in it and I attend mass as often as I can, my priest comes round and gives me communion if I can't get to church as my mobility is so bad. Recently ive been unable to sleep due to the pain I'm in and I've spent hours in quiet prayer, praying for world peace, tolerance and strength to cope with this disease with dignity and compassion for others. Prayer provides great comfort to me. I'm due to have an operation on my shoulder next Wednesday, a good friend of mine is having mass said for me this Sunday, to know that there is a whole congregation praying especially for my health and well being is wonderful and humbling.
Whether you believe in God in all his various names and guises is up to us individually, I respect every persons right to believe in God or not. personally my life is richer for having my faith.

I think the animistic religions got it about right as a view to how the world around them should be treated, don’t get me wrong I don’t believe that spirits dwell in pebbles etc but I do like the stand point that the world is an intricate ecosystem that shouldn’t be fecked with as anything you do has deep and sometimes dire results, Well all apart from wasps, pointless spiteful little buggers!.
But sadly the results of Christianity and Islam both of which espouse to be caring understanding religions is all to familiar and daily shown on the news we get pumped into our lives, both have been used to justify using violence to achieve their gaols, those being to manipulated the plebs as a weapon to get at what they really want and secretly covet, i.e. power and wealth.
Just look at this country and North America for example, there they all were getting along not taking anymore than they needed and understanding the deeply significant connection we all have with nature and then up pop’s Christianity and the next thing you know all hell breaks lose, sadly it’s been a downward slope ever since,
More harmonious and chilled out religions have like the less aggressive civilisation been pushed out the way and generally oppressed and slaughtered by the more violent newcomers.
Here in England Christianity tried it dammed hardest to wipe Paganism religious genocide, but like so many attempts at wiping out others you don’t like it naturally failed, oddly even today many Christians have a deep hatred of Pagans, I think the reason is they don’t like the thought of anyone having a good time on a religious level.
I’m sorry but the fact kids get cancer and suffer so much from such illnesses is proof God doesn’t exist, no caring God would do such a thing to so untainted souls.
Nope he’s not their, and anyway why did he wait all this time until now to make us, Dinosaurs had control of the planet for 160 million years and they got on OK without him, thing is we wont last as long as we unlike any other creature on this planet have one significant difference or fault, and that is greed, it’s what will do for us in the end, well that’s if a asteroid or hyper nova doesn’t get us first.

    Hi Mel,
I appreciate and respect your point of view. I am as I've said before on this forum, a Catechist within my church, I teach young people who wish to make their confirmation, aged between 13 - 22 and most of the class this year were boys! the programme is arduous and reflective, we have one question which asks young people what their faith really means to them, I could print reams and reams of lovely replies to that sentence but have selected one that really made me think.
"The reason I want to make my confirmation is, I would like to sit down and talk with other people my age and find out if people think like me about God. I see ilness and wars and starving people on tv and think why is God doing that? but then I think God made us to think and get out of situations and try and help others if they can't help themselves.
I think God made us to care about people not just your mates and mum or dad. So that's why I want to make my confirmation, hope that's enough to join the course Thanks" Alfie 16.
How many times are teenagers portrayed in a negative light especially since the recent riots? Yet here was a small group of mostly teenagers wanting to help others through their faith.
I find it heart warming that in this day and age, faith continues to inspire others. My love to all X

My Mum was protestant, my Dad RCatholic   I was told I could believe what I wanted go to church if I wanted etc.. It was forced on my Dad and my mums dad refused to walk her down the isle with my dad.

Me Im more spiritualist, I dont beieve in one big deity just that we all move on to higher plains, I like to think our loved ones stay around for a bit sometimes still smell my granddad and feel hugged.

My issue with declining religion is I feel its causing a decline in moral values. I think it helped kids to unddrsatnd right from wrong adn their moral obligation to other man. Kids today dont seem to be brought up with the moral background we were. Im old fashioned at 40 always was a bit but then my kids feel the same way (despite being much more popular than I ever was) even they say they are a declining population of kids that realise they are accountable for their actions.

wow what a topic, made me think..
