Hello everyone!
How are you all??

Its been so long since I've been on here!! Got called up to Coventry to look after my gran in law! Bless her heart, been away for 3 months up there, and all I can say is thankfully the weather was warm and kept the arthritis at bay!!

Had my check up with Rhumey doctor last wed, told her that my tablets (i was taken Salazophyrin) were rubbish and did nothing, but that also me and OH were considering kids, so she gave me a steriod injection! I have been in pain ever since!!

Thankfully she only gave it me in 1 of my wrists! I couldnt use it for 3 days, and am still in pain now, although it seems to be different pain to the usual, which makes me think its just from where the injection actually went in..... anyone else had this??

Im not the best when it comes to pain anyway, but this is bonkers, been crying my eyes out today coz its such an annoying pain and i have zero strength in my wrist!

Also spoken to the JC regarding my claim! I was lucky enough to get a job back in August but it just didnt work out, with my pain levels! You have to look after Number 1 first! So i am still within the first 28 weeks but i will be sent for an assessment! boohoo!! The last one was 2 years ago, but i was in a plaster cast as the time, so thats how they assessed me, not buy the arthritis!
Also spoke to them about permitted work, oh what fun! Speaking to the JC is like getting blood from a stone! From what ive read i understand I can earn upto £20 a week and thats for as long as my claim is running???!!! Thats all id prob earn anyway, just selling some homemade cards, and i also make wedding stationery.

Anyway thats my moaning done lol Its so great to be back guys :D

Hello, it's good to hear from you again, aren't you lovely to go and look after your gran despite your own troubles.

After any steroid joint injection it is best to rest the joint for at least 24 hours, preferably 48 (that is what my hospital told me many moons ago and I abide by it). The joint is left feeling very sore and tender for a while, and to be honest I rarely gained more than three days' benefit from them. I won't be bothering with them in the future. I too am on sulph, I have been for years: I think it keeps the P bit of my PA at bay, but it never addressed the arthritis.

I hope you are as well as you can be and it's nice to have you back. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hiya!!!!

good to see you there

i am so sorry about that wrist and hope that by now it is easing. l have always thought it ought to hurt when they do this after all a foreign substance is being forced into our bodies...maybe it bruises?????

Maybe it is actually gong to work? wouldn't that be fabulous

Really good news about trying for a baby - will be really thrilled for you as and when you succeed so don't forget to let us know  .

    Love and hugs
