All done today, everything ready for next Wednesday, I've to be in for 8.30, so think I may be one of the first which is good, get it over and done with  I have to say though, I met the surgeon today and nearly fell off my chair laughing, honestly thought I was going to have an embarrassing accident I was chuckling so much  you all know I've been whinging of late as the shoulder, wrist, ribs and toes are bad? Well, walking isn't great (hence my wheelchair Betsy) but today I decided to walk or shuffle with hubby's aid and my stick which was fine no problems until, the nurse called me in for my checks and as I got up to go in I lost my balance and kind of lurched into the room, struggling to regain my balance with my stick and the rubbish wrist I was very lop sided. Hubby was following me and said in a loud voice "the bells! the bells!" and then I started laughing and couldn't answer the nurse when she asked my name so hubby helpfully said my name was Quasimodo resident of Notre Dame by which time I really had lost the plot  thankfully the surgeon and nurse by now were also laughing and the appt went well. I'm NOT taking him with me next week! Love and still a one armed hug from Quasimodo X

It's lovely to hear you laughing, poppy, it's good you were all able to have a giggle albeit at your expense. So, the 19th? I'll be there, I promise. DD

    Hi all,
Yes, back to my peas Sticky  I'm going back to bed in a minute as I'm shattered, no sleep, but must tell you this, I have just answered the door still dressed in pyjamas, dressing gown, slippers, hair like a haystack and the beloved frozen peas clamped to my shoulder, 2 chaps knocked wanting to know if I wanted my garden landscaped, i said no thanks but as I went to shut the door one of them asked me why I was wearing peas? I told him I was slow cooking them, really? he asked yes I replied you should try it, it's a much better way to cook them. Oh well thanks he said, i'll give that a try...do you know I think he believed me  x

Hi Airwave, 'to swing on high' that's the dream Airwave  I used to be a Childminder, 15 years of punishing lifting, bending and stretching with heavy toddlers has taken it's toll  4 years ago I had an arthroscopy as had frozen shoulder at 35  then 2 months ago I developed a large lump on my collar bone and the shoulder completely seized up, I am unable to move my arm up or down and the shoulder hangs so far down my back it looks dislocated. Saw specialist and due to have another arthroscopy and bone spurs removed. Sounds scary but actually I'm past caring what they do, I'm in tremendous pain even with oromorph, but thanks to the lovely people here on the forum I've got plenty of additional support and advice.
Hope you're ok Airwave? Love and one armed hugs (((((( Xxx

Oh Dear, just when I thought it couldn't get worse...just back from Drs as they rang me to say there was a problem with my recent bloods, it appears my White blood cell count has plummeted and unless it's back up when they re test Tuesday - no operation. I had a good cry when I got home and have been ordered to bed by my lovely Mum who wheeled me down there. Im so grateful to be able to post this and just get my fears out if you know what I mean? My boys will be home from school soon so will have to put smiley Mum face on and hope and pray the op still goes ahead. Thanks for reading, love to all Xxx

    Hi Poppy,

Oh flower, what a blow for you, no wonder you have sat down and cried I would have done too. I am glad your mum was with you. I hope it was just a blip and the next blood test comes back normal.
Fingers crossed that Wednesday goes ahead as planned.

    Hi Sticky and Clare,
Thanks for your good wishes I do need them at the moment. Another night with little sleep, I'm trying hard to keep my mind busy and rest my body but it is hard. The arm now feels like pins and needles all the way from shoulder to elbow, and the shoulder itself is so painful ive cried and I feel sick at times, not sure if the oromorph is even helping, but too much of a coward to come off it and see :???:
Not long to go now, I'm desperately hoping that the operation goes ahead.
Love and hugs to all X
