Hi Beccy, Wanted to say welcome, and that you remind me of me at 29, that was when I was coming to terms with my Osteoporosis. I felt I couldn't talk to my family (still can't now!) and most of my friends had disappeared after I had told them what was wrong, I feel they where scared and didn't know how to talk to me, or they just decided they didn't want a disabled woman as a friend pick your choice!
So for a while I just became closed in and eventually joined a day centre and met people who where in the same boat as me and saw how they relaxed and happy. It opened my eyes and made me see there is know need to be embarassed of being ill or disabled and there is lots of things we can still do. I joined this forum last year and since have met some lovely people who have become like a family to me.
I also wanted to say you are my hero now! What you still do, running marathons and still enjoying bikes and going to gyms, that's a dream to me something I know I can't do. But hear you still do it Wow you are amazing! By the way forgot to add I'm 38! Welcome again. Amanda.x

Hey Amanda - thanks for the lovely message- as I was saying before it's nice to be able to speak to people who understand some of the feelings that I have because they have been there or are there now!

It sounds like you had some pretty terrible friends whatever there reasons were - I think that would have knocked me for six but how good that you were proactive enough to go and join a day centre and made friends who accept you for who you are.

I look forward to hearing more about you - especially as I remind you of you! And being called someone's hero has made my day! But you should be there on the days when my neck freezes up and I am total baby about it!! Nothing heroic about that..lol

Hope you are having a good day today :) xxx
