Am I Putting My Best Foot Forward?

Today, as I was putting on my surgical shoes, I checked to make sure they weren’t in need of repair.

Left shoe – sole & heel worn smooth mostly but as evenly as any shoes on my feet can wear.
Right shoe – sole & heel almost pristine, still with original knobbly bits on.

I swear I have not used one shoe without the other and also that I have used both feet for walking. It’s about 55 years since I last hopped. I also swear that, with these shoes, they finally got my legs evenly balanced after my knee revision.

Might it be due to the fact that I keep opening my big mouth and putting my foot in it?

Any explanations? (Serious ones welcome but stupid ones even more welcome.)

I suspect you have another pair which are reversed: right one worn smooth, left one complete with nobbly bits. DD

    Hi Sticky,
Perfect excuse to go shoe shopping!! Seriously though, no idea why, but I have always had this as well, my left foot is awwsys more worn away than the right. I supposed as our bodies are never totally symmetrical that this is the reason? Hopefully some clever 'clogs' (ha ha) will come up with an answer. Xxx

To be honest, I have always used to wear one shoe down more than the other mine being my right foot (oh... .so that was the reason why they amputated that one then  it was beause I was weaaring that shoe down more   )

Well, I think, between us, we may have solved the mystery. DD, I've checked my other pair - they are normal by my standards. Val, you had the right idea and Poppy, she must have been a clever clogs to sneak it out like that.

Ooooh Julie I'd never have suspected you. I thought we were friends. I'd no idea you were a Jekyll & Hyde character - nice and supportive on the forum but, all the while, secretly coveting my surgical shoe.

Did you take it for any nice walks on the nights you secreted it away?

My only suggestion would be that as you walk past the shops as you wimmin folk tend to do, they must be inadvertantly on your immediate left, unknowingly you have a tendancy to lean toward the shops coveting more shiney things..
    Dr Tony's suggestion..
Walk down the street in the opposite direction for a couple of weeks, should rectify the problem.

Ah it takes a bloke to come up with a scientific explanation. However, I seem to lack the female shopping gene. Even Mr SW enjoys shopping more than I do.

Does anyone round here walk normally?
