Just feeling a bit sorry for myself. I went to have wound checked at hospital today. It's not healing as well as they would like. It all opened up again so I'm in a back slab again. I have to go back next week to have it checked. I was told off for not resting enough.

Oh Sue, I feel sooo sorry for you. I thought things were going ok after your visit last week. You must feel so disappointed especially if you thought you would be out of the back slab today. Hopefully if you try to take it easier all will be well soon. ( I know that is easier said than done!)
Sending you healing thoughts and good wishes xx

Thankyou. It's not often I allow myself to feel sorry for me, but this time it's really got to me and I feel very low.

    Hi Sue,

they are right flower and you must rest it more.

the first real thing, except for standing on nails, i ever did to my feet was a big impact break.... it didn't heal too well and ended up with an impact ulcer.... your not going to get one its just i was told something while they were trying to heal that up....

every time you put weight on the foot you knock the healing back a few hours....

Sue its hard i know but you must rest it more, elevated and with luck it will close up and heal for you soon. leaving you a [[[]]] and i am sorry its not going quite the way you hoped but it will heal. Cris xx

Hi Sue. I'm sorry that things aren't going to plan, it's so often the way though eh? It's understandable to be down, and we've all been down self pity street.. No shame in that. The trick is not to hang around there to long, tis a baaaad neighbourhood, lol..
I will lend you my sat nav. Tis automatically set to take you directly to happy avenue.. Fastest route

We are all here for ya hun :!:

Aw, dear Sue, I am so sorry to hear that and we thought things were going well for you. Do you think you have not been resting enough? I hope I am not told that at my 6 week check too. It is difficult to know exactly how much rest is enough. I find that anyway, when I am feeling well in myself post op. Try to be a good girl this week and persevere at resting, difficult though that can be, if you are anything like me and hopefully things will be much better for you at your next appointment.

    Chin up,

    Love
    Elna x

So sorry your foot not healing but you must rest to allow it to. I have noticed injuries etxc take much longer to heal nowadays and I just have to be patient and let nature take it's course.
    Hope you feel better soon

Oh dear, cloud9, how disappointing for you. Once an op is done it is so tempting to think 'Woo-hoo! I'm fixed! It's alll better!' and in a funny kinda way one is fixed, and one is better, but first there is the tricky, time-consuming and frankly rather boring matter of healing which has to be successful so the 'woo-hoos!' can kick in.

You know what has gone wrong this time, so please ensure that you do sit with your foot elevated, lie with your foot supported, don't stand for too long and certainly don't walk more than you have to: the older we are the lolnger healing can take, and if you are on any kind of medication that can also slow matters. Rest, eat well, and let's hope it all goes better this time round. Take care. DD

Thankyou all so much. I am and have been completely non weight bearing on the R foot. My L foot is very weak so I find it hard to hop. I use a K9 scooter indoors which is my godsend. But it's too heavy to carry up and downstairs so I have to go up and down on my bum and use a zimmer when up there to get to bathroom. I was told off for not elevating enough and trying to do too much around the house. I've caused it to swell hence the bad healing on top of which my skin quality is rubbish. I've bumped it a few times too and although it hasn't hurt me to bump it, it still causes trauma to the wound. Another reason to sit and do nothing!!! But it's soooooooo hard to do nothing!!!
Thankyou all for your kind words and support you lovely people. xxx
