Hi Everyone

Well as you all know I am waiting for my neck operation and on the 5th oct,I went for my 2nd pre op re-assessment because my pre op had expired.

Today at 4.45 on a FRIDAY (gasp) I got a phone call saying that because I have been waiting for this op for 16 weeks and 1 day they are refering me to a different hospital (private). BUT I have to have the pre op again (3rd time lucky).
I go for this pre op on sat.29th oct.
Hopefully they may be able to give me a date then for the operation, but if not, the wait shouldn't be long.

I now feel a little better knowing that they haven't forgotten me because for the past few weeks this op has been getting me really down.

So fingers crossed again everyone that very soon the pink flamingo WILL get my date

Love Juliepf x

    Dear Julie,

I am SO happy for you. I know that sounds a little odd but I am sure you know what I mean. You also know that I will most definitely be there to support you. Having been on a very similar journey myself just that little while before you, I hope I have prepared you, the best I can. You will be nervous like I was, that is perfectly natural, but you will be fine. You have already been through an extremely tough op some time ago. I really do admire you and your fighting spirit.

You will be getting very used to these pre-op appointments, won't you? A small price to pay for getting an op date at another hospital quickly. Great that you shall meet the surgeon and team too.
You will also have time to do any planning you wish to do. Sounds as if it is all working out for you this time around.

    Lots of love
    Elna x

Heck, you will be getting a master at these pre-op assessments eh? I think you should insist as youre at private hospital that you get the five star treatment, best pillows and sheets, gourmet food and a personal nurse to wait on you hand and foot - lol....
No seroiusly this must be getting you down being messed about and I'm happy you got this 29th appointment then hopefully a date given then....

Will be thinking of you n crossing all digits possible.....Sol will be puffing his beans up too for you...

Thank you every one for your support once again
I am so very happy at the moment and so looking forward to my own room  I will feel much more relaxed, because with out the leg I am about as elegant as an elephant and I wont have to worry about showing my wears   to some poor ward mates.

(tony, sorry mate but if they were to say we want you in tomorrow, I'm off , doubt it though  )

Hileena, good luck with the ct scan, I will be with you in spirit cause I will be at a rhummy appointment

Elna, I know what you mean about being happy for me I was spinning round the room in my chair after the call. I was shaky but so relieved.
I just want this over and done with and all the advice you have given over the few weeks before and after your op has been such a help, thankyou.

Skezier...cris. Thank you for popping in and for your support it is really kind of you as I know things are not too good for you at the moment. Hugs ((((()))) and hope you feel a little better soon.

To every one else..........Thank you so very much for all your support.

    Have a good week-end

It has well been worth the wait, Julie. Things have turned out for the best and you will certainly get VIP treatment at the private hospital.:grin: My old arthritic bones are telling me it will all go well.

Oh my lovely, what excellent news. I will be there (with me mum) and cheering you on as loudly as I can. Get you going all posh - it's the least you deserve, my wonderful pink flamingo. I am so pleased - and I am sure it will be a case of third time lucky. Hugs and love. DD

Congratulations Julie - I am sure it will all go well and you have nothing at all to worry about and it sounds like you just got the hospital equivalent of being upgraded from economy to first class!

I know I haven't been here long but I do know how nerve-racking these op's can be so - chin up, good thoughts and it will be over before you know it. There will be lots of people thinking of you on the 29th :)

I would say good luck but you don't need luck!

    Keep smiling, Beccy xxx

You know I’m dead chuffed. But I couldn’t resist saying it again. Things seem to be really, really, really moving now. And about time too.

Good luck with the appointment Julie and it sounds good to be going to a private hospital - at least the food will probably be better! Hope you get a date soon. You really are organised what with getting all your Christmas pressies etc , and as I now myself, the waiting is a different kind of stress to the actual thing. x

    Hi Julie,

been thinking i am really glad they have done this one cus the date will be more solid in the private hospital.

they tend not to have the emergencies etc that can lead to delays and bed shortages and like you said to have your own room will help as well.

be i your pocket as i hope you know. love and hugs. Cris xx
