Hi All

Last night we had company so mum had asked me to set the Sky HD box to tape Merlin and Casualty. I duly pressed the R button on both programmes and thought nothing more. Come the time of the prgrammes I noticed the little red light wasnt on and mum really likes Merlin!! Oh No!
Nobody else was about in living room strangely so went over to box pressed R again, it wasnt having it. So someone had siad if you siwtch on and off at wall it rebooted it. Ah yes, but mum had also been re-arranging furniture and wall socket was now blocked by nest of tables....Still nobody about so had to sit on pouffe, then put good leg out straight and got rest of self down (as dad does this and he has TKR and THR) got self on floor, managed to get switch with lots of difficulty, and it was on and off....Took what seemed like ages to come "ha ha gottya".....
Sat there thinking okay how to i get back up? Someone appeared, my brother said "are you okay?"...Um no, cant think how to get up! Sat with legs out in front of me wondering, then thought if I back up and put my good leg out again as had done going down, might manage it...Did that with good leg, but only got so far...Then reached for mantlepiece but bad leg wasnt coming up at all. Think had to use all my upper body strength had buuilt up in gym as eventually gt my bad leg up with plenty of oohs and aahs....It was sore as hell though!!!
Its still sore today and to be fair had been getting pain back after not having it for about 2-3 weeks..Im kinda glad it is as thought with weight loss, pain gone it had solved problems but obviously it hasnt and the joint is still very damaged.....
Oh well, I made it but as some would say what a pallava!!Couldve done with Merlin's magic!!

I have a similar problem, cannot reach the switch on the floor which is tucked around the corner at ground level. I have trained my children to do this task.
The joy of sitting on the beach or grass has long gone as I too cannot get back off the floor.

Did you manage to get Merlin and casualty taped in the end?

I remember the first time I found I couldn't get out of the bath. That was a shock. A few weeks before My OH and I had stayed at a posh hotel and they had a jacuzzi ( and a four poster bed). He went out and I had a couple of relaxing soaks and caught up with him later. I often wonder what would have happened if I'd been unable to get out of that hotel jacuzzi as it was only a few weeks difference when I got stuck the first time . I'd have been left in there for hours and hours before he noticed!

I think youd have been either very cold, as the water would have cooled, or very wrinkled due to time being in there....I dont do baths after last time i ended up wearing the sponge, ornaments!!!
