Hi folks.
Just had a phone call from the job centre place.
My ATOS medical is on the 7th of November

I realy have been dreading this, have read and heard so many horrible things.. I am slowly starting to recover from the past fortinight's flare and chronic IBS problems etc.. Now, just stressing, daft I know but I just can't help it
If I am anything like I have just been I would need a home visit but for that I have to get the GP to fax them reasons for such.. Very awkward as I cannot garauntee how I am from one day to the next..

I hope that I am ok by then as we are going away at the end of this month

I am waffling, sorry :???:

STRESSING

I'll be there in your pocket Tony for the 7th November. Speak to your GP and see if he can write you a letter for a home visit, your GP has been prescribing medication for your recent IBS flare, the GP should be able to say you're not fit to make the journey and who knows that might go in your favour? thinking of you X

I will be going back to the docs in next couple of days IF I don't continue to improve.. I am feeling a little better today.. Still got the usual pains etc and the stomach is still raw but the IBS seems to be slowly settling down

    Hi Tony
I will be with you on the 7th. Hey waffle away, we all need to let it out and even more so when we are nervous about things. I hope you feel better or if not that your GP can help.
    Take care

Thanks NB, appreciate it.. I just know that stress is another factor that the IBS really doesn't need at the minute, lol..

Will try and keep my mind off it as much as I can.

I don't mind going there if I am able, just would not want to get to the day and be laid up and penalised...

    Hey

I remember dreading my atos medical so much after what I had read and been told. But I had 2 medicals for esa and both times they were fine. The doctor I had was the same each time and I passed both times without a fight. (shame it was not so easy for dla :???: )

I have PA and they could see the swelling etc, although Im not sure this makes alot of difference as its what you 'can do' as opposed to what you cant. The hardest part was trying to convey on the forms how I could feel relatively normal one day and then hardly able to walk the next.

I really hope you get on as well as I did with an understanding atos doctor.

    xx

Thanks Rosycheeks.. I am really pleased to hear that you had a good experience..
Are you appealing the DLA? I hope so..

    :wink::grin:

I very rarely swell, in fact my knees swell slightly and that is it but what you can't see is the constant pain in the knees, spine, wrists, hands and elbows, plus the shoulders joining in recently.. Then there is the IBS, boy could I ever 'produce' evidence of that    Not sure they would want it though
I have been depressed too but have to say that the new meds have made a good improvement on that score, just need to stop stressing about this now

Thank you, hope that you are well today

Hey Del, cheers matey, I am used to being doomed I tells ya, lol..
As for the Rapture, knowing my luck there will just be me and the medical examiner left

Oh Tony mate, I know nothing about these things so cannot help in anyway. I will be with you in spirit on 7.11.11 and sending all the positivity I can manage your way. I can understand the stress but at least you now know what's what and when - cold comfort, I know. DD

Hi tony, sorry to hear you're still not quite right,b ut you always keep your semse of humour. I agree with the others, ask your GP for a letter for home visit in case you're not good on the day, as you say stress makes the IBS worse and a pain diary is a good idea. Why is it that once we get this nasty arthur rubbish we get a load of other c**p to go with it, I'm sure you have an answer!!!!! Hope you start to feel a lot better soon,

    Hi Tony

I am sorry that you have got your appointment date through. I am sure that your gp will help you out with this. If you cannot attend then you can't - that is all there is to it. I am sure your GP would do the necessary for you if that is the case. He must be fully aware of your health problems. As you say, stressing does not help matters at all, but given an ATOS appointment is enough to make anyone stress these days. It is good to hear that you are feeling a little better. You have been poorly. Your sense of humour rarely wains though, does it?

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Hi I'll be thinking of you on the 7th - it certainly won't help you IBS, my husband suffers from that and I know what he goes through. I hope that stays calm for you. I can guess what you'r going through - I've got my medical on Wednesday and I'm not looking forward to it, to say the least! Anyway Good Luck. Some people do go through with no bother, surely, I hope one of them is you!!!

Good luck for the medical, I hope you get through without any bother, as you certainly ought to. Love Sue xxx

You'll be fine Tony, don't worry. Why not tell your G.P. your fears about not being able to attend and see if a phone call to ATOS to make them aware might help. I'll be there with you on 7th cos I've also got a job centre appointment on that day. I'm in the "back to work" group so I have to tell them why I can't work every 3 months!!

    Hi Tony,
I know very little about these things but I have read somewhere that you need to explain how you are on your worst days.
If your taking anti depressants your depressed otherwise doc wouldn't have given them to you.
IBS May be a bit better but for how long.
As for arthur it doesn't mean you haven't got it just because your joints aren't swollen.
You wouldn't be lying about any of this.
My friends hubby passed this and I have no idea whats wrong with him.
They seem to lead a perfectly normal life.
5 long holidays this year and they are going to Australia next month.
Anyway here's another one with you in spirit so to speak.
    Good luck May

    Cheers.. It's really appreciated.
I know what you mean about recovering after things like this.. As if the thing itself ain't bad enough.. We continue to pay for it way after the interrogators have gone home to their comfortable lives...
