oh joy I have my appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Cant wait for the insight into how I can return to work
.... I can maybe possibly work one day a week but sometimes need 3 weeks off can give 2 hours notice to whether Im having a good ish day but that can change over the course of the day. Repetitive tasks cause pain and stiffness so minimum typing, filing not gonna happen as cant get up and down or stand for long periods. Telephone bit of an issue as cant hold handset for long time (5 min tops) cant use headsets as recurring ear infections leave me deaf. Reading is difficult due to dry sore eyes. Need toilet next to work station as may need to run (ok hobble as fast as can ) and will need locker room including disabled shower for times when hobbling just wouldnt do.. Expect mistakes and falling asleep due to copious amounts of pain meds including dihydrocodeine. CAnt do coffee making duties as drop cups, kettles and burn often. Manual jobs are not an option due to poor hand dexterity, pain, dropping things due to poor grip. PS Im a bit of a health and safety nightmare through NO fault of my own.

Anyone give me a job???

Not sure Im great material right now, which joking aside makes me feel rreally cr*ppy. They reckon they can go through what you can do and its a positive interview but it isnt them sat there trying to think of something they can do and finding more cants. It makes me feel pretty worthless knowing Im such a leech on societies money despite having worked and paying plenty of tax in my time.

    Hi Theresa..

You sound like a carbon copy of why i would struggle at work(apart from toilet issues)..
How lovely it would be to go to work..If only there was a job we could attend on the days we felt good..unfortunately it doesn't work like that..
Wil be interesting to see what they say..Have you everything written down to tell them tomorrow?..don't let them bully you..I shall be thinking of you and please let us know how you get on..

Good luck Theresa. I know exactly how you feel. I have to go through a similiar experience every 3 months. If you want pocket dwellers, count me in.

    Hi Tracy
Thanks for the reply, Im taking my GP letter that I sent for my ESA medical claim as its open booths in there and I dont want to sit talking about my personal stuff like my bowels and accidents in earshot of someone else. Im going to hand her my letter and explain that it hard for me to talk about so could she read the letter. Hope she has a miracle cure for my RA and other problems as they ARE the obstacles to work.
HAd such a rotten day today with pain but after a heavy pain killer weekend IM trying to avoid the big guns DHC as I dont like to take it everyday if I can help it. MAy have t give intonight though.

    HI Cloud9
Wow every 3 months? last time I was told I had to go to pathways to work who took one look at me and sent me home and I didnt have to go back til this review of my ESA. 3 monthly would really do my head in and logistaically would be hard for me

    Hope you are both well

    Theresa

Hi Theresa, I think it's absolutely disgraceful you even have to go for this interview. Do they think we'll magically get better overnight? we wish. They should be targeting people with iffy diagnosis' that are neither here nor there and could be trying it on, not people with genuine PROVEN ilnesses who will never get better, some of these so called ill/disabled people supposedly have things that can get better/go away, they should keep an eye on them and leave us alone. Genuine people are the ones that would like to work if they could, the others are the ones who will try anything not to or work and still claim benefits, they give us all a bad name. My OH has to go for ATOS medical tomorrow, he used to be an HGV driver working long hours, nights, weekends, hardly ever used to see him, he was bringing home about £400 per week, do they really think he would give that up unless he had to and live on the pittance they give us which just about pays for food and utilities, what are we supposed to buy clothes with, shirt buttons. The government should talk to people like us to find out how hard it is as they don't have a clue. why should we have to pay the same for gas/elec as someone who earns £30,000 per year? Sorry for ranting but I'm sure most of us in this situation feel the same.
I hope things go well for you and they realise what life is like for you.

I can't understand why someone with the problems you have can be expected to work. Its just stupid and not as if we have so many vacant jobs, the country is in danger of grinding to a hault! The Government should have more sense, this the 2000's not 1800's!!! Come to think of it, in those days they had Workhouse's and Parish relief, so people did have somewhere to go. Sorry, thats an exageration, but feeling fed up with the system, as I have to go for a ATOS medical on Wednesday.

I really hope tomorrow is not as bad as you think and that you see someone who will be helpful and understanding and get the right result. So lots of love and good wishes for tomorrow, Suexxx
