Hi Jane
From whom have you heard that there is a 50/50 chance of paralysis with the injections that have been mentioned to you. Who mentioned injections to you. Sorry, so many questions.

hi Bluegirl,
i am sorry you have got this one but wanted to give you some reassurance as well as a bit of support.
i have had oa in my spine since my late teens if not before cus i had my first slipped disc at 13. its now quite advanced though it was stemmed a bit by a full decompression in my 20's.
i used to be on the morphine and i used to be fairly useless for a bit but the morphine wasn't working too good so had a bit of a review and now take 600 pregabalin, 100 trams 4x a day, 150s/r diclos and oxynorm at night as well as a lot of help from the pain clinic and i am doing okish still even after all these years.
mine is all stage 3 or 4 and it now includes the neck as well and a bit of the pa in with it too so hang in there and maybe you would find a pain clinic referral useful? if you get a good one they know their stuff and can really help be it with nerve blocks, medrones into the joints and now in my case as well as that lot botox triggers. it all helps and is worth asking about.
some advice from physio might help as well cus keeping the muscles as strong as you can is really beneficial.
the pain gets to me at times but i also made a decision that the oa had taken so much from me it wont get any more and for me the coping side has been fine tuned quite well but i have had so many years to fine tune it. i think maybe the pain clinic referral would help and have you had an ortho opinion cus sometimes they can hep as well. nice to meet you Cris x0
