Morning all,
Just found out I'll never be able to try Anti-TNF as I have a lung condition called bronchiectasis (I knew about that) as the meds could cause me to get, as he put it,"A serious bout of pneumonia which could kill me or leave me worse off than I am now" at least he was honest and not willing to take a chance on it. Now I'm going to try butrans pain patches, but the hospital can't prescribe them (cost) so I have to wait for a letter to go to GP before I can get them. The good news is my ESR is 64 (down from 91 7 weeks ago). Not really sure how I feel about this appointment, need to get my head round it.

Oh dear nanasue, I guess he was right to be so honest with you. Before I began all three antis I had lung Xrays (at least I think I did, it's getting harder and harder to remember! ) and being so immuno-suppressed does mean that when you are poorly you don't know as you don't produce symptoms until the infection is well-established. That is a blow for you, I can see that. At least the ESR is on the way down, which is a good thing and hopefully means that what you are currently taking is having an effect. (I should remember what you are on, I'm afraid I don't. My apologies  ) Stay as well as you can, yes? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi, sorry to hear your news, it must be a real blow. Am I correct in thinking bronchestasis is an autoimmune condition as well? Are they treating you for that as well??
I hope the pain patches work out for you. Have you tried a pain clinic or physio for hydrotherapy/? Both are very useful for some people.
Take it easy and treat yourself a little, you deserve it0 -
