.....so here's a bit for others. Some of you may remember that, back in June, I was doing the proverbial thing with bricks when my aged TKR went very sulky on me just before I was due to visit my son - and his fiendish stairs - for a few days. Rest, exercise and judicial use of a knee support got it almost back to where it had been before it all went pear shaped but today was my first subsequent visit to my orthopaedic surgeon.

Result? I thought the X-ray looked great. He says it's jamming against the kneecap a bit but he's happy to leave it for another 6 months and see if it's shifted any more.

So, another reprieve. Another surgery-free 6 months. The wine's in the fridge.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

 Hello my lovely, if that is how you want to see it, I shall celebrate with you and join you a little later with a glass of wine. At least you and your consultant have come to an amicable arrangement, for 6 months at least :smile:

Wey-hey! If you are pleased then I am pleased. If I set off I could be there by about 10.30pm so stick another bottle in the fridge, please. Needless to say I will bring one too! DD

OK. Thanks you guys. My philosophy is why fix what ain't broken and, if you'd seen the bits of the other TKR before the revision, you'd agree this one is far from broken.

So, I've chucked all inessentials such as food, milk & fruit juice out of the fridge. It's now stocked with the finer things in life.

DD, I can't guarantee how much will be left by 10.30 (That's of me, not the booze) but the first bottle's going well.

I've even dug some lager out of the garage (from the last BBQ) for mig though I hope to introduce her to some real ale.

Tony & Cloud9, the kettle's on too. I'll join you later.

    OK Let's party!

    Hi Sticky,

Oh a reprieve indeed, and well worth a celebration. Congratulations for all the hard work you have put in to get the result you wanted.

Now is about this wine...any white going spare? Oh is that chocolate cake lurking on the top shelf??

Blimey, Traluvie, six months of partying and they'd need to replace more than one old TKR!

Thank you everyone. You are all good company.

Your secret's safe with me, Julie.

And there's no such thing as a small Pimms. The fruit takes up half the glass.
