Hello again, only recently joined the forum and wandering if you lovely people can give me some more help, just after more of your experiences and suggestions as I am starting to become more concerned as my pain is developing, so here goes....

After having problems most of this year with my knee giving way on me I made a couple of trips to my gp I was sent for a x Ray on the knee nothing really showed up told prob early OA.

More recently pain in groin, leg also became stiff and having to be careful how I move my leg, knee more painful so back to gp then referred to musculoskeletal clinc where I was examined and sent for more x rays on hips and lumber spine, results show minor OA in hip and lower spine saying overall seems to be pointing to the Left SIJ joint the part that connects the spine to pelvic bone (I think correct me if I am wrong) and also mentions I walk with a slightly antalgic gait (limp) to the left. Being referred For physio and possibly a SIJ joint injections.

Now I am experiencing pain in my small joints swollen ankle to painful leg, so another trip to GP and suggest possible RA I have had blood tests done and just waiting for results, but now I have had a couple of major twinges in my lower back and now making me nervous to bend over, my knee and leg are even more painful and still giving on me but now i am thinking are the x rays I have had enough to show what is really going on and for the amount of pain I am having i know where my problem is with the SIJ joint is close to the nerves in the lower back.

I am sorry this is so long but is this similar to what any of you guys have experienced I am going to go back to my GP for my blood results and tell her about my concerns . Thanyou lainy:-)

I think going back to the GP is a good idea, Blogblog123. I can understand your worries and concerns as so much seems to be happening so quickly and also the diagnosis may be changing too. All I would suggest is deep breaths and, first off, seeing what the blood test shows. If RA is suspected, I'd assume your GP would then refer you to a rheumatologist. The good news is that there's a lot of stuff out there with which to treat RA. Please keep us informed.

    Hi Lainy

It seems like there is quite a lot going on with you at the moment and this must be worrying for you quite understandably. I hope your referral for physio and also joint injections comes through pretty quickly. Injections can be pretty good, I have found anyway. Going back to the gp is all very well, but you need something sorting out, I expect that is how you feel. Gps dish out the meds and refer you to someone in "the know", whether it be a consultant, rheumatologist, pain clinic, or physio etc.

Let's see what your bloods say and take it from there. Sounds like you may have OA and perhaps RA too. It could be referred pain from the lower spine giving you so much pain in the one hip/leg. Do let us know how you go on.

    Hi..

Like you i noticed different things happening quite quickly and it is very scary as you do not know if it is all arther related..
As the others have said it is worth telling your GP and maybe writing down your symptoms in a diary so you can keep a record and show the doctors..
Let us know how you get on..

Thank you for your replies, I will just have to wait for my blood results to see if anything going on, I do worry as I am 10 years post breast cancer I was 35 at the time and had chemotherapy and radiotherapy and then 8 years of anti cancer drugs which put me through the menopause at such a young age and wander has all the treatment been a added factor to what I am now going through, but hey so glad I am here to tell the tale. Will let you know how my results go. Thank once again.:-)

Worrying is natural and pretty normal for most of us. For about 3 years after my breast cancer I regarded everything that went wrong as another symptom. I still remember going to my GP with a lump at the top of my leg. He instantly diagnosed it as 'a fatty lump'. I felt stupid and embarassed and relieved. I've no idea where it went but it's long gone now.

The waiting game is a tough one but you'll get through the other side.
