Oh dear, Joan. That's not what was wanted, is it? I really can't help, I'm afraid, but after operations I take no chances. If it were me I'd be phoning my GP. I know they're not orthopaedic specialists but I think he'd know enough to decide whether or not this required more immediate attention.

A crack can indicate a ligament snapping but I'd be surprised you could walk on it at all if that's the case.

At the very least I'd ring NHS Direct for advice. You don't want to undo all the good work you've put in with that fusion, do you?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

If I were you, (and I have had a triple fusion) I would call your consultant or the ward where you went after the surgery. I expect they will say that you need x-rays but it sounds like something you don't want to leave too long. Good luck

    Hi Joan,

oh thats not what you want at all.

I agree with the others and maybe be you should get in touch with either the ward, your gp or consultant cus you need to be seen I think.

hope it will ease up for you and not hurt and give out like this. Leaving tea, hugs and a hope. Cris xx

Joan, my lovely, I am sorry to be late with this but I have been out with my mum. I think you need to be telling your GP as soon as you can about this, there is a difference between a fall due to tripping and a fall due to not. I think you are very much in the second category from what you have said, and I strongly urge you to rest, walk only with your zimmer, and ring your doctor as soon as you can. This, my lovely, does not sound at all right to me, I know I am not a doctor but I know a little about falling etc, don't we all? Please take the bestest and greatest care of yourself over the week-end, I will be thinking of you. That's 4 of us all in agreement, Joan. Do get it checked out one way or another.

I'm doing OK. Thanks for asking.

Hi Joan, glad you have an appointment for Monday. You really do need to get it checked out. Hope you aren't too bruised from falling - falling hurts. Glad you are using the zimmer at the mo, nuisance though it is, you don't want to be falling again.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
