Dupuytrens contracture

Hi all sorry not been around much, I am bit like a bad coin coming back. I found this on the internet " Dupuytrens contracture " this is exactly what I have got in my hands and fingers, I have 2 large lumps sitting on my liagments which are pulling my middle finger in... doc keep telling me I will get lumps with my arthiris,

So frustrating have OA and told to go home and get on with it.

I keep waking up in the night and having to massage my finger straight arrhhhhh

OH well least my middle finger isn't sticking up on its own

I have got that as well and told it had nothing to do with OA?????
I have the lumps on my hand {bottom of 2 middle fingers}but the doc said nothing could be done about it until my finger started bending forward.....which it hasnt as yet....but have had these for ages and thats what it was diagnosed as.....was at the physio and he noticed them and mentioned them, the same with a consultant, neither of these appts had anything to do with this :roll:
You say yours have started to bend? I would push to be seen by whoever it is......dont know yet...but the minute my finger starts to bend I'll be back to see what can be done about it.
Let me know what happens....I'm interested.....not heard of many people that have this.

Hi , I'm a RAer and have dupuytrens : my right hand , all fingers have bent forward and down and touch the inside of my wrist , only digit that can move is the thumb . Left hand is beginning to join in and catch up , the fingers are just starting to bend forward and down . I was advised that ops can make it look better aesthetically but it might make the pain worse and was unlikely to restore any use to the fingers ; so it's been left to go it's own way ! Jillyb

its interesting to know....although I've had these for years and was diagnosed with this......I've had no pain as yet....and they havent started to bend.

I have inflammatory arthritis and was told that my contracture was due to this. I have OA in spine, neck and lumber. I don't know many people with this. I find it quite painful as fingers wont straighten, lumps are ugly.

Well this could be interesting, my two lumps only appeared last April, they started off very tiny and now about the size of a large peas, they get in the way of my driving and hurt when I need to use the palm of my hand eg unscrewing things, gripping. I have noticed I can't pull the middle finger back the same as the others.

My last appointment was in August and I like I mention, its a case of OA and get on with it, nothing can be done other than pain killers and exercise. They forgot to cancel an appointment I had in Nov ( brought forward to August ) so I am thinking of doing the wrong thing and going again...... as you know what it is like to appointments !

Also I really could do with some support in my wrists whilst I work and do house work, sick of pinging shooting up my parts arrrhhh

Hope you can get this thing diagnosed soon... trigger fingers sounds similar l know but the treatment is very different.

If l were you l know l would go the Nov appointment.

Do let us know what happens.

Thanks guys, not sure what I would rather it be, trigger finger ermmmm sounds like something from the wild west yeah har !!

Please don't knock for me taking the mickey out of myself as its the only way I cope.. its laugh or cry
