Hi Ladies & Gents, Went into hospital as a day patient yesterday and had my Gastroscopy. The consoltant came and saw me afterwards and told me they found a bacteria in my stomach it's called 'Helicobacter Pylori' it can be treated with antibiotics and some other meds. So I need to go and see my GP after 7 days so she gets a chance to see the report. So it's nice they found something and it can be treated. Good to have a name to my tummy pain even if it's a strange long one!! Amanda.

I think that is quite a common condition - is it one of those where we all have the bug but it only flares in some? I think it's summat like that. I am glad they can do something about it and I hope things ease soon. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    I think you misheard..
They found a helicopter pilot in there

What he was doing there we will never know, he swallowed a cyanide capsule once he figured out his game was up.
I think he was planted there by the Chinese to spy on Bubba when he works for Ra.

    Hi Amanda
I am glad they have found this, if left it could have caused ulcers,so you get those antibiotics...then you can get rid of the bug.

Hi, I'm really glad they've found the cause of your problems. Its the bacteria which can cause ulcers, but if found, like yours, can be easily and painlessly treated with medication.

About 20 or so years ago, I had a perforated ulcer which I didn't know I had and that wan't very nice! When I had the ulcer I don't think they even knew the cause or treatment of ulcers. So I'm glad you've got yours diagnosed and soon treated!
    Love Sue
Ps I've had the antibiotic treatment too, as I had symptoms a few years later and believe me its nothing to worry about.

    Hi Amanda,

Well in a way it is good news and the best part is that it can be sent packing..

Hopefully you will have the anti-biotics soon and start feeling so much better. Could they fax the report through to your doctor so you could get the meds quicker?

    Hi Amanda,

Oh flowr I am sorry they found something but this one is fairly easy to treat.

You need something like nexium at (think 4 a day) for a month and that will kill it

The thing it can do, its possibly responsibly for causing ulcers.... Don';t worry though cus they haven't found one and you will get the treatment and be fine.

promise you it responds well to the nexium.

Hang in there and get those tablet asap. ((( ))) and a hope its not too painful? Cris x

i had endoscopy some years ago and i was found to have helicobaterpyleri, was given 2 types of antibiotics for 2 weeks but time changes maybe different way of dealing with it, i had diagnosed 'irritable bowel syndrome' nothing really helped, had endoscopy to see if i had haitus hernia which i did, but 'IBS' kindof nowhere near as bad over the years, have oten seen the Dr for stomach pains and had 3 spells at the hospital last year due to diarreah and vomitting but otheriwse after the medication it seemed to quieten down...
hope the meds work quick once u have got them xx
    love and hugs
