Hi
I am posting to thank everyone again for their support recently when I had a fall. I am recovering well, and have seen my physio again this week who says I am doing well considering. I am being referred to a `Back Builders` course (?? made me laugh!!) but my BP is up so I have to see my GP first.

But I would like some support please , not for me, but for my daughter. She has a mole on her iris in her eye, which is being monitored for any changes. But for a week now she has been having headaches, so we saw the GP yesterday, who examined her and said he was thinking brain tumours. I stunned.. I had been thinking migraines maybe?? Her mole in the eye has been the same for 18 months. I have asked for an urgent appointment with the Eye specialist, and she is to be seen on 11/11/11.
The GP wants us to go back next week. I am confused now, and my daughter was shocked at his thoughts too.
Thanks for reading xx
NB

    Hi NB,
Glad to hear you are recovering ok from your fall.
Really sorry to hear what your doc has said about your daughter and you are bound to be terribly worried.
You really need to stay as positive as you can be until you see a consultant.
Please give your daughter my positive thoughts too and tons of support.
    Take care
    Love May

    Hi Nb
It is good to know that you are doing ok, and good luck with the back builders programme (what ever that is). Guess you will be wearing one of those wide belts and lifting weights eh?

I am very sorry to read about your daughter though. Hopefully the gp made a hastey diagnosis and is completely wrong.
Lets hope that on the 11th the specialist says it is nothing to worry about. I send you both positive vibes.

My hubby got sent to an eye specialist a few months ago because the optition and doctor said there was something wrong at the back of his eye.
This worried me and him too (although wouldn't admit it)
It was good news....and nothing to worry about.

(I know it is a coompletely different case, just wanted to give you hope)

    Love Juliepf x

    Thanks May, Val and Julie
I am trying to keep positive, especially for my daughter. But she has told me today that she can `feel` the mole and that her eye feels bigger than the other. She didn`t say that to the GP, she says she couldn`t talk to him , typical teenager! I was there with her, but I can only tell him what she has said to me, and this stuff about how her eye feels is new to me.
I am off with her and my son this week. I will be watching her like a hawk now.

    Hi NB
Im so glad you are recovering from that awful fall, you must be so worried, but the specialist is doing his job , and your GP shouldn't have frightened you like that.
It will seem such a long time till the 11th, but I am sending all the good vibes I have..and loads of hugs for both of you.((((())))
And dont forget you know where we are.
    Love
    Barbara

    Hi NB

just to say I really really hope the GP was just being overly cautious. I will be thinking about over the next two weeks..

Glad that you are recovering from your fall.

I think sometimes GPs forget how long a few weeks can seem with that kind of worry hanging over you? He really should have kept that thought to himself as he's not an expert. I recall a GP doing something similar to me when I was pregnant with my eldest and he had a defective blood test result that worried him and he phoned me on a Friday night to tell me this. I spent the following week half out of my mind fretting and then it was all for nothing it turned out.

Ahh Poor you and your daughter. Re her feeling one eye tighter than the other it might well be psychological because of what the GP said? It's always much harder to deal with health problems relating to our children than to ourselves and am sending positive thoughts for the waiting period and hoping like mad that it's all just a red herring - might well be - and sending hugs your way. Mat xx

Hi NB. I'm sorry that I've only just seen this.
I truly hope that the doc is just an idiot if that makes sense...
Both me and Ra will be hoping for the very best hun.
Hopefully he's way off the mark. I hope that she has a good appointment on the 11th
We will happily get in line for pocket duties

Sorry NB I've only just seen this, was offline most of yesterday due to broadband problems.
I'm glad you're getting over your fall. I agree with everyone else, doc should have kept thought to himself as not a specialist. Keep thinking positive and hoping it's something simple that can be fixed easily.

    Morning
Thanks Marion Mat Sue and Tony.
It is a nice day here and I am hoping to take the children out for the day to do something together. My daughter had a good night and didn`t complain of headaches much, which is good.
Hope you are all ok x

    Hi NB
Sorry to hear of this news, it is indeed a worrying time, waiting for a firm diagnosis. It is always better to know, then things can be dealt with accordingly. Sending hugs and well wishes. If you are at all concerned, present at casualty, your daughter has every right to be seen as soon as is possible. Take care XX Bubbles a065.gif
