Hi all, me again. Sorry to be anuisance, I had a bit of a tumble which was a nasty shock. The bruising is getting worse and my joints are coming up all hot swollen and really painful. I am not going to the doc, I don't think I have hurt myself too badly, but the pain is really bad.
Any tips?? I don't feel well enough to go out so it needs to be home diy for me.
Thanks, hope you don't mind.

The jolt of a fall is enough to set off the joints with pain and swelling but whether that would cause a flare or not I have no idea. I did not flare back in the summer when my stool collapsed under me but my god, the bruising was summat else! Rest up, suzy, keep ahead of the pain with the dullers and rest as much as you can. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Suzy,
First of all your never a nuisance!
Secondly i am sorry you have had a fall and if the pain doesn't ease back maybe go see the gp,an just get checked out?
Falling jars you up so badly (i kinda fall a fir bit) and that might well aggravate and possibly make you flare as well.
I s hope the anti-flams an the resting has done the job and your much better tomorrow. Hang in there but get checked out if the pain doesn't ease back. ((((( ))))) and love Cris xx0 -
Hi Suzy, Sorry to hear you had a fall, make sure you rest and you really should get checked out in cause you've broken something. You have to remember your body should be number one it's what runs you, helps you move. So any injury should be checked just in case. Amanda.0

Oh Suzy, I'm so sorry you've suffered a fall, it leaves you in a state of shock doesn't it? I didn't feel the pain in my wrist wgen I broke it falling down the stairs I just felt shock. The advice youve been given here is as always spot on, rest up, keep painkillers topped up and either arnica or witch hazel are excellent at bringing the bruises out and so getting over it a bit quicker physically. Mentally you will be shaken, sending you a huge but gentle 2 armed hug () Xxx'grá agus solas'

Suzy,
We've not 'met' yet as I'm new to the forum but I'm sorry to hear you've had a fall. I think you need the wine/chocolate/book prescription.
Prescription: glass of the type of wine you most enjoy (or tea/coffee if you prefer), a huge bar of chocolate that only you can eat (this won't be at all suitable for children or OHs) and a good book to read whilst you're resting. Follow all that up with a long warm/hot shower and then repeat as required.
Oh - as you'll be recuperating you probably won't feel up to cooking so will need to be either taken out, or have a takeaway. Bonus with that - no washing up either!
Hope you're feeling better soon. Take care, Grace.Turn a negative into a positive!0 -
Cor! I like Doctor Grace's kinda medicine! How are things today suzy? I hope you are feeling as OK as you can possibly be. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi all, I do like Graceb's prescription, can you always be my doctor!!!!
I feel totally wiped out today, I just want to rest in a corner of the sofa and not be bothered by anything. Sadly the demands of life make this impossible, which is making me grumpy!!
I am going to rest as must as possible, and give the bruises chance to heal. Hopefully I will be less grumpy then!! :oops:0 -
Suzy,
if the "standard" treatment doesn't appear to be sufficient then you also need to have 100% rest from all household duties, taxi-driving (should you do this usually) and anything that may cause you to lift even your little finger. This regime should be undertaken for as long as you feel necessary.

Forgot to mention: when chocolate is taken for medical purposes it's calorie and fat free!

Grace, I do like your thinking. I spent the afternoon having a long nap in bed and am feeling better for it. Joints still flaring, but bruising isn't is bad. I am leaving the family to find their own tea tonight, awaful mother that I am. Its either that or get all cross, grumpy and frustrated. Sofa wins!!0
