A study of 2000 people has shown that we forget an average of five things a day. Apparently, our busy lifestyles mean five important tasks or facts slip our minds during the course of a typical day. The problem seems to get worse with age, with more than half saying they forget things more frequently as they get older.

These are the top 20 most forgotten things:

1. Return phone calls
2. Reply to emails
3. People's names
4. Send birthday cards
5. Charge phone
6. Passwords
7.Take meat out of the freezer
8. Water plants
9. Pick up things from the printer
10. Take the rubbish out
11.Take washing out of the machine
12. Post things
13. Packed lunch
14. Record TV show
15. House keys
16.Turn alarm off at weekends
17. Glasses
18. Wallet
19. Anniversaries
20. Washing up

What do you most frequently forget :?:

My worst ones are forgetting people's names, and charging up my phone. I'm also quite skilled at forgetting to wash up, do the housework, and the ironing

Forget things all the time and it is realy annoying, especially where I put things or dates.

We went out for a day in the countryside yesterday , wrapped up warm and took a flask out for hot drinks . Trouble was , hubby forgot to put anything in the flask , should have seen his face when we paused to pour out piping hot tea and had cups of air instead ! Jillyb

I'm always forgeting things, pretty much everything on that list I forget!! Except numbers 10 & 11 as hubby does those!! I can forget what I said 5 mins ago!! And when I'm speaking I forget what I'm about to say! It's aweful, I blame the meds for it as I was always good at remembering things before I got sick. And now I'm the other way round!

I love that one, Jilly  It sounds like something I might do.

I once had a dinner party and cooked pork chops in cider for everyone, but when I served them out, I realised that I had forgotten to count myself, so there was nothing left for me

    Where did I leave…………………….

    My forgetter’s getting better
    But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
To me it is no joke
For when I’m ‘here’, I’m wondering
If I really should be ‘there’
And when I try to force my mind
    I haven’t got a prayer
Oft I walk into a room
Say, ‘What am I here for’
I wrack my brains, it’s all in vain
    A zero, that’s my score
At times I put my things away
Where they are safe, but Gee
The person they are safest from
    Is generally ME
When shopping, I may see someone
Say, ‘HI’ and have a chat
Then, when that person walks away
I think, ‘Who on earth was that’
    Yes, my forgetters getting better
    While my rememberer is broke
And it’s driving me just crazy
    And that isn’t any joke

Position 12, eh? Can I ask which meds you're currently on, rehab? Also, do you do position 12 during the home visits? (Assuming you can remember it, of course.)
