The mixed emotions sound about right to me, diamond, I hope all goes well and that the outcome is a good one. Remember to play your part with doing the exercises etc after and I am sure all will be well. Knee ops are a little more complex as the knee joint is a hinged one: hip ops tend to be more straightforward as a ball-and-socket joint is just that, but the bending and flexing of a new knee can take a while to get used to - but once the post-op pain has gone and your pain levels are significantly reduced due to the new joint I am sure you will feel grrrrrrrrrrrrreat! Good luck, keep in touch after and let us know how you are getting on, yes? I wish you well. DD

Im sure the emotions you are feeling are all so normal, you have a lovely meal out tonight congratulation on your anniversary, and I will be in your pocket on the 9th.

Happy Anniversary, Diamond! I want to wish you all the very best for your forthcoming TKR next Wednesday. I have had both done, two years apart and all went well for me. Hard work doing the physio but well worth it. Do as you are told and you will be fine.

Anything you wish to ask, please do. Think it is easier that way 'cos I could bore the living daylights out of you with how my two ops went.

All I will say is, that it does take time post op so try not to get despondent ,if you are like me, a not very patient, patient.

    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

'Excitement, anxiety and fear of the unknown'. Yes, that's it in a nutshell, diamond. I'm on my 3rd replacement but the one it replaced was 27 years old so not bad going.

You'll be fine. As Elna says, do the physio. It matters, to strengthen the muscles. And do very little else. Your job is to rest, exercise and recover. Let anyone else do the boring stuff like housework. Cultivate that essential 'blind eye'. I found computer games took my mind off the pain and enabled me to delay pain-duller-taking.

Congratulations on your determination with the cigarettes.

Now, go out, have a lovely meal and drink something nice for us all.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

HI Diamond firstly happy anniversary , wishing you the very best for Wednesday , I've had my tkr 18 months now and i class my self one of the unlucky ones , i had another op on it 6 weeks ago , but things are on the up now i hope , just remember to keep up the exercises yes its going to hurt and will feel tight but don't over do it , but elevation and ice are good , when in hospital short sleeves are best less messing about with the cannula for pain relief and stuff , xx
