hi all hope everyone is well.
so i have had a horrible flare and it feels awful.
my pain is quite bad and the pain is all over.
i had a scan last week of my hands which show no inflammatory but some damage. yet still i am in lots of pain and don't seam to stop and from what the nurse said they would class my ra as in remission but for me the pain is still there in my bigger joints and hands
so now i will see the rhuemy today to see what is next,
is anyone else in this position?
or know what i can ask?

Hi Dee,
I was suffering with horrid pain in my hands last year, i had xrays and ultrasound which showed nothing, my bloods were ok too..It was only through a bone scan that showed i had inflammation..
What medication are you on for your RA??xxTracyxx0 -
Hi, I'm sorry you are in such pain. I have had negative bloods, but symptoms like yours, now they are thinking of Fibromyalgia, but I bet they change their minds.
Just keep going to the doc, thats all I can advise, you're in pain and need help. Love Sue xxx0 -
Oh poor you Dee
It's horrible when you can't 'prove' your pain isn't it?
Still the rheumatologist is the one who is 'really' responsible for your care so l will cross fingers for you that he/she takes you serioulsy.
Love and hugs

If the scan is showing damage then perhaps that is the source of the pain? That would make sense to me. We are not like dented cars, we can't fit a whole new panel which is perfect and we're all repaired. Poor you, you are not imagining the pain, it's real and needs to be dealt with - I wonder if an arthtritic remission is different to other sorts? Now that is question to ask a rheumatologist! Take care, look after yourself and please let us know how you get on. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

hi all and thank you for your replies
at least my rheumy was understandable and knew i was in pain.
he did the joint test and didn't like the sums,so he said to go on Rituximab which i said i didn't want to because i want another baby soon and after an infusion i have to wait 12 months before i try to conceive. as i got upset my partner asked if there was something else i could try before this which he said ok i could go on to cimzia injections.
the rheumy is not very talkative but seams to know whats going on and sees the swelling on my knees, elbows and ankles.
so a little worried about starting a new drug which is an injection and not a pen but hoping it will help for 6-9 months then i can have a baby and start it again.
(this is now my 5th med so heres hoping)....RA since feb 2010
