After 13months I have a confirmed diagnosis

It has taken 13 months of tests and almost constant pain to get a confirmed diagnosis. It is official - I have Lupus. I don't know whether to be relived, upset or angry. I am relieved that I will now get the treatment I need and get relief from this constant pain in every joint in my body. I am upset because I realise that there will be no miracle cure. but happy that the condition can be controlled and will be carefully monitored. I am also a little bit angry that it has taken so long to get to this point and keep asking myself "why me".

Still, lets be positive, I will slowly start to get my life back. Last week when I asked Hubby what he would like for Christmas, he got all dewy eyed and said "I would like my wife back" . This year I intend giving him exactly what he has wished for.

It has been a roller coaster ride and you have all been there by my side when I have needed you THANK YOU.

Embrace the good days and I will continue ringing my bell for you.

Diane

    Oh Diane

l am so sorry, but like you l understand your relief because now you can be treated properly and hopefully give your husband his Christmas wish

Take care of yourself just now and give yourself time to recover...even though you expected this it IS still a shock

Well it's good that you know and I think lupus is one of those that could be helped by diet: I remember that carola put herself on a strict diet but had good results from it. She hasn't posted for a good while now - hopefully because we are not needed as she is doing OK!

I am still ringing my little bell at 7pm, as I'm usually cooking about then it's in the kitchen. You will keep in touch with us, yes? Lupus is an auto-immune thingy-doo-dah-wotsit as are a fair few of us on here! Take care. DD

Hi, thank you all for your lovely replies and support. I know that I still have quite a journey ahead of me, but knowing that you are there will help a lot. I will be popping in from time to time to see how you are all doing and to give you the occasional up date.

Keep ringing those bells and slipping into pockets and I will do the same.
